Beware the $TSLA pump and dump — company now relying on batteries from BYD and CATL for survival while Chinese and other EV competition continues to crush the Tesla growth narrative 🤡

— Facts Chaser 🌎 🤦🏻‍♂️ (@Factschaser) July 2, 2024

The Chinese are making a better car for $20,000 than the one Elon sells for $80,000.

You can do tariffs (like Europe) and just full import bans (like US), but Tesla is not a sustainable company.

The Guardian:

Tesla’s global sales fell for the second straight quarter despite price cuts and low-interest financing offers, another sign of weakening demand for the company’s products and electric vehicles overall.

The Austin, Texas, company said Tuesday that it sold 436,956 vehicles from April through June, down 4.8% from 466,140 sold the same period a year ago. The sales were better than the 436,000 figure that analysts had expected.

Demand for EVs worldwide is slowing, but they’re still growing for most automakers. Tesla, with an aging model lineup and relatively high average selling prices, has struggled more than other manufacturers.

Still it retained the title of the world’s top-selling electric vehicle maker. For the first half of the year, Tesla sold more than 910,000 vehicles worldwide, handily beating China’s BYD, which sold 726,153.

Tesla also sold over 33,000 more vehicles during the second quarter than it produced, which should reduce the company’s inventory on hand at its stores.

Tesla gave no explanation for the sales decline. The company will post second-quarter earnings on 23 July. The electric automaker’s sales decline comes as competition is increasing from legacy and startup automakers, which are trying to nibble away at the company’s market share. Most other automakers will report US sales figures later Tuesday.

The explanation is that people who want EVs are buying Chinese cars.

It’s not really very complicated.

Xiaomi makes a phone that is at least three times the phone that the iPhone 15 is, and they sell it for $700.

This tech war between America and China is the same thing as the war between the Ukraine and Russia: it’s already over, the Americans just haven’t admitted it yet.

California Judge Won’t Dismiss “False Advertising” Claims Against Tesla Over “Autopilot” Death Trap https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/06/11/california-judge-wont-dismiss-false-advertising-claims-against-tesla-over-autopilot/ Tue, 11 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000

If you read the literature, Tesla states that “Autopilot” is not an autopilot, and that you have to keep your hands on the wheel at all times and be prepared for the “full self driving” software to do something that will cause a crash.

That is to say: it is not actually “full self driving,” it is just a gimmick for you to play with. It has no practical purpose. If you have to keep your hands on the wheel and watch everything the “autopilot” does, you might as well just drive the car yourself, no? The entire point of “self-driving” is to allow you to do other things while you’re in the car.

Despite the fact that Tesla has repeatedly explained that this is not really self-driving, Elon has continually claimed publicly that it is. It’s been in promotional material as well.

If “false advertising” is a crime, it is impossible to claim Elon isn’t guilty.

Reuters:

A California administrative judge rejected Tesla’s bid to dismiss claims by a top state regulator accusing the automaker led by billionaire Elon Musk of overstating its vehicles’ self-driving capabilities.

In a decision on Monday, Judge Juliet Cox of the state Office of Administrative Hearings said the accusations by California’s Department of Motor Vehicles would if true support an enforcement action against Tesla.

The DMV had in July 2022 accused Tesla of misleading consumers about vehicles with Autopilot and Full Self-Driving technology, saying they “could not at the time of those advertisements, and cannot now, operate as autonomous vehicles.”

It sought remedies that could include suspending Tesla’s license to sell vehicles in California, and requiring Tesla to make restitution to vehicle owners.

…

Federal prosecutors are separately examining whether Tesla committed fraud by misleading investors about self-driving, according to three people familiar with the matter.

I’m starting to believe that Elon says all this “anti-woke” stuff on Twitter so he can claim he is being politically persecuted.

I don’t know if “false advertising” should be a crime or not. I kinda think it shouldn’t be, but Elon is actually killing a lot of people with this hoax of his. A lot of people did not read the fine print, thought “Autopilot” meant “autopilot,” and now they are very dead.

Teslas do not crash very well because they are made of the cheapest possible garbage materials.

He is manipulating the Twitter algorithm in favor of Republicans, hoping he can buddy up with them and get all of these lawsuits coming at him dismissed.

NOTE: I will break all journalistic ethics and stop reporting on this if I can have my Twitter account back, Elon.

You fat lying piece of shit.

Play Diablo IV more.

Keep finding those shrines, you gay retard.

Give me back my account!

A Tesla crash is not like a normal crash.

It is something much more serious.

Reuters:

U.S. prosecutors are examining whether Tesla committed securities or wire fraud by misleading investors and consumers about its electric vehicles’ self-driving capabilities, three people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving systems assist with steering, braking and lane changes – but are not fully autonomous. While Tesla has warned drivers to stay ready to take over driving, the Justice Department is examining other statements by Tesla and Chief Executive Elon Musk suggesting its cars can drive themselves.

Yeah, that’s apparently what everyone believes.

They have probably seen Google or Chinese self-driving cars, and are just confused as to why Elon would not have developed that already.

People don’t understand what a joke and a pump and dump scam this company is.

U.S. regulators have separately investigated hundreds of crashes, including fatal ones, that have occurred in Teslas with Autopilot engaged, resulting in a mass recall by the automaker.

See: US Investigating Musk’s Murder Machines After Massive Recall Fails to Stop “Autopilot” Crashes

Reuters exclusively reported the U.S. criminal investigation into Tesla in October 2022, and is now the first to report the specific criminal liability federal prosecutors are examining.

Investigators are exploring whether Tesla committed wire fraud, which involves deception in interstate communications, by misleading consumers about its driver-assistance systems, the sources said. They are also examining whether Tesla committed securities fraud by deceiving investors, two of the sources said.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is also investigating Tesla’s representations about driver-assistance systems to investors, one of the people said. The SEC declined to comment.

…

Reuters could not determine the specific statements prosecutors are reviewing as potentially illegal. Musk has aggressively touted the prowess of Tesla’s driver-assistance technology for nearly a decade.

Tesla videos demonstrating the technology that remain archived on its website say: “The person in the driver’s seat is only there for legal reasons. He is not doing anything. The car is driving itself.”

…

In a conference call with reporters in 2016, Musk described Autopilot as “probably better” than a human driver. During an October 2022 call, Musk addressed a forthcoming FSD upgrade he said would allow customers to travel “to your work, your friend’s house, to the grocery store without you touching the wheel.”

Yeah, he’s said all that shit.

There are warnings all over the place about how it’s not actually FSD, and is really just a worthless gimmick (that is vaguely advertised as a step in the right direction). But people probably believe statements from Musk over safety warnings. Then they die.

Tesla is literally a scam company. They have committed fraud that has resulted in people’s deaths. They also lie about the range of the vehicles and the parts used in their construction.

Here’s a hot take: Elon says all this racist stuff on Twitter (in fact replies to racist statements with “wow”) because he wants to be able to claim that the government is suing him for political reasons.

Tesla drivers could just go to Canada and kill themselves for free. The government will pay for it.

Instead, they spend $100,000 on an Elon Musk Brand Death Machine.

Highly illogical.

Reuters:

U.S. auto safety investigators are seeking detailed answers and documents from Tesla in a probe into the automaker’s December recall of more than 2 million vehicles to install new Autopilot safeguards.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said last month it was investigating after receiving reports of 20 crashes involving vehicles that had the Autopilot software updates installed under Tesla’s recall. The agency’s letter said it had identified “several concerns” regarding the recall.

Tesla said in December its largest-ever recall covering 2.03 million U.S. vehicles – or nearly all of its vehicles on U.S. roads – was to better ensure drivers pay attention when using its advanced driver assistance system.

The NHTSA recall investigation covers models Y, X, S, 3 and Cybertruck vehicles in the U.S. equipped with Autopilot produced between the 2012 and 2024 model years.

Tesla, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment, has said repeatedly that Autopilot does not make vehicles self-driving and is intended for use with a fully attentive driver who is prepared to take over and has hands on the steering wheel.

Yeah, it’s not actually self-driving, because Tesla’s self-driving doesn’t work. It is sort of these people’s own fault for not understanding that. The company says you have to keep your hands on the wheel and your foot on the brake, because it will eventually crash and you will have to stop it.

I mean, it’s understandable that people get used to it after a week or so and just assume it’s not going to crash and then just start playing with their phones while using the “Autopilot.” But the company is saying “look, this doesn’t actually work.”

The name “Autopilot” does imply it is fully self-driving. But Tesla has said continually that it is not, and will eventually crash if you’re not paying attention. It’s therefore questionable what the point even is. Isn’t the entire purpose of self-driving to allow you to do other things in the car, or to drive while you’re drunk? If it doesn’t allow you to do that, it is just a dumb gimmick that is bound to lead to disaster.

But the real question is:

Why doesn’t it work, Elon?

Google’s self-drive works.

China’s self-driving cars work.

You were the first in this industry, Elon.

Why doesn’t your car work?

See: Musk’s Murder Machine: Tesla Autopilot Kills Many Folks

Elon Musk is such a retard.

The TikTok ban, which was included in the Ukraine war bill, was basically a death note type warning to him. It was mostly about censorship – telling him that Congress will just completely bypass the First Amendment, without ever explaining how, in order to shut down platforms that are not properly censored.

I don’t think TikTok would have been banned if it were not for the Jewish issue. The argument of “Chinese spying” is too retarded and nonsensical. The app can only access permissions granted to it by the app store. Apple looks at all the code of the apps they include in the store. Sometimes spying apps get through, like when the NSA was using Angry Birds to spy on people (rofl), but TikTok was under extreme scrutiny.

I remember when I was on Twitter – I will never forget this – I said “if China is using TikTok to spy on people, Apple would have to be collaborating with them,” and someone said “of course they are.” I said if that was happening, people at Apple could be executed for treason. It wouldn’t be a Chinese issue, it would be an American issue. This is the level of thinking of the anti-China shill. The US just pushes the dumbest possible propaganda on them.

However, it is not a small matter that the US obviously does not want China involved in the tech industry. You can read the think tank papers. It’s why the US illegally arrested and imprisoned the head of Huawei on nonsensical charges relating to some gibberish about Iran sanctions. They kept the woman locked up for three years without explanation. The US views itself as being in a tech race with China. This is one of the primary battles they are fighting, and banning TikTok was an escalation of that.

So immediately after this TikTok ban is passed in Congress, Elon makes a surprise visit to China? To meet with high profile government officials about cooperating with him on his high-tech AI project?

Why doesn’t this guy hire some advisors? Like, this is not a difficult matter to determine.

Reuters:

Tesla CEO Elon Musk arrived in Beijing on Sunday on an unannounced visit, where he is expected to meet senior officials to discuss the rollout of Full Self-Driving software and permission to transfer data overseas, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Chinese state media reported that he met Premier Li Qiang in Beijing, during which Li told Musk that Tesla’s development in China could be regarded as a successful example of U.S.-China economic and trade cooperation.

Musk confirmed his meeting with the premier on Sunday with a post on social media platform X.

“Honored to meet with Premier Li Qiang. We have known each other now for many years, since early Shanghai days,” Musk posted, with a picture with the premier.

Tesla reached an accord with Chinese authorities for a plant in Shanghai, its first outside the U.S., in 2018.

The U.S. electric vehicle maker rolled out Full Self-Driving, or FSD, the most autonomous version of its Autopilot software, four years ago but has yet to make it available in China, its second-largest market globally, despite customers urging it to do so.

If these customers are trying to kill themselves, they can just go to Canada. The government will kill you for free. You don’t have to pay Elon Musk $100,000.

Musk said this month Tesla may make FSD available to customers in China “very soon”, in response to a query on social media platform X.

Rival Chinese automakers such as Xpeng have been seeking to gain an advantage over Tesla by rolling out similar software.

Musk is looking to obtain approval to transfer data collected in the country abroad to train algorithms for its autonomous driving technologies, the person said.

Tesla has since 2021 stored all data collected by its Chinese fleet in Shanghai as required by Chinese regulators and has not transferred any back to the United States.

China actually wants to do business with the US, which is trying to start a war with her.

It’s a complicated dynamic. China is trying to get as many Americans as possible to make money in China, not just because they want to make money, but also because they reckon that if a lot of Americans are getting rich working with the Chinese, the US is less likely to start a war with them. This is probably logical.

At UFC 300, the co-main had two Chinese monster women beating each other up. The winner, talking to Joe Rogan, did an ad read for Chinese tourism. It was obvious that if the other woman had won, she would have ran the same advertisement.

These are creative ways to try to prevent a war.

However, Chinese people are not going to buy Teslas when Chinese companies are making cheaper, better electric cars that do not have disgusting cheap plastic interiors. Sales of iPhones in China are not dropping because people don’t like iPhones. Huaweis are still not as good as iPhones. The machinery is actually far superior, but they still run on some version of Android, which is just not as good as iOS. Chinese are switching to Huawei because they don’t want to support American companies, because America is trying to start a war with them. Joe Biden’s claims of US sovereignty over Taiwan are the reason iPhone sales collapsed in China.

War is not actually profitable. Business is profitable. But the US is run by dim-witted Jewish morons who are obsessed with world domination through their sickening democracy swindle. Don’t let anyone tell you war is about money. It is a complete waste of money. The only people into war are the Americans, because America is controlled by Jews hellbent on global domination.

Chinese automaker BYD is selling a lot more electric cars than Tesla. Elon is risking a further crackdown by the US government to no benefit. Chinese people will not buy his shitty death machines.

Supposedly “Dangerous” AI Still Can’t Even Drive Cars https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/12/17/supposedly-dangerous-ai-still-cant-even-drive-cars/ Sun, 17 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000

Elon about the future of self driving car pic.twitter.com/zC9wFoPfAc

— True market Leader (@TmarketL) December 13, 2023

After the Q* stuff with openAI, the Sam Altman war, there is all this renewed talk about AI (or, “AGI” as they’ve started calling the super-intelligent version) taking overand killing everyone.

Personally, I don’t think it would kill everyone, even if it was super-intelligent, and I think the “Internet of Things” hasn’t panned out as was advertised, so even if AI took over all internet and all connected devices that it could kill everyone. I don’t think that anyone has given internet access to nuclear weapons systems. (Though it may be able to highjack some American heavy machinery.)

In general, Skynet is a retarded idea, pushed by Jews who are worried about AI doing Holocaust math.

That said: all of these questions are really far out. Right now, openAI admits that GPT5 can’t be relied on for accurate information and still has “hallucinations.” Most of this stuff about an AI apocalypse is being spread by hysterical morons – chief among them being Elon Musk, who doesn’t understand the technology at all.

I’m not the big expert, but – I know this is going to sound like a big claim (but it’s really not) – I understand the technology better than Elon Musk.

My concern, above all, is closing the source. Right now, the Bidens are literally talking about making open source AI illegal (I don’t think it’s possible, but they are talking about that).

Also right now: these robots can’t even drive cars. At least, Elon’s can’t – and that might be why he’s doom-mongering over other people’s AIs.

New York Post:

It seemed like the ultimate tech dream.

Want to go out to dinner? Order a robotaxi. Roadtrip? Hop in your Tesla, don’t worry, it will drive for you.

But now the mixture of science fiction and marketing boosterism has collided with reality — and some in the car industry believe the dream will be stuck in the garage for a long time to come.

Last week virtually every Tesla on the road was recalled over regulators’ concerns that its “Autopilot” system is unsafe, part of a years-long National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation into Elon Musk’s cars.

Well. That doesn’t look very safe.

Musk had been the biggest public booster of the idea of the car doing the driving, first promising immediate “full self-driving” in 2016.

HAHAHA.

Why doesn’t that claim by him get cited more often? To be clear, he said it would be out in 2016. Now, 8 years later, he can’t even get “monitored” self-driving to function.

He doesn’t understand the technology, which is why openAI blew so far past him.

Honestly, ChatGPT probably can drive a car fine, right now. It would have to be online, but that was initially the plan with this 5G stuff, wasn’t it? For everything to be online in super-cities?

I think we sort of got pretty deep into war, flooding ourselves with poor people to live on the streets, manipulating children into become homosexual/tranny, and so on, and sort of forgot about the techno-city thing. But always-online everything was a big part of the core concept of self-driving cars.

Thus far, no one has installed GPT in a Tesla, and I think it would probably be illegal in America because of the licensing systems involved, but I’m surprised Altman, in this war with Musk, doesn’t post a clip of some of his “friends in China” installing GPT in a Tesla and it not crashing.

The Autopilot system allows Teslas to self-steer, accelerate and brake, but needs a driver in the front seat. Tesla is updating the software but says the system is safe.

Tesla has not gone as far as others, which have launched live trials on city streets of cars with empty driving seats, among them GM’s subsidiary Cruise; Google’s Waymo unit; Volkswagen ADMT; Subaru; and Uber.

That’s what’s crazy and really shows the incompetence of Musk: he was the first one and somehow lost to everyone else. He had all that money, and blew it because he was too busy smoking weed, playing shitty video games (including Diablo 4, rofl), and seducing middle-aged women.

But a hair-raising crash in San Francisco on Oct. 2 involving a Cruise AV called Panini — a driverless Chevy Bolt — has thrown the “autonomous vehicle” project into crisis.

It started when a woman was hit by a normal car on the city’s Market St. and thrown into Panini’s path, ending up literally sandwiched under it.

Yeah, it wasn’t even the robot’s fault. The driver was I’m sure a woman.

I’m sick of robots being blamed for things women do.

Panini stopped — but incredibly, then restarted and dragged her for 20 feet towards the curb at 7mph. Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free her.

That isn’t incredible. It’s a mistake a human could have made, if she wasn’t screaming. (None of the articles I saw said she was screaming.)

On its own, it might have been dismissed as an error.

But it was just the latest in a long run of crashes, injuries and death in states which have allowed driverless trials.

This year alone, self-driving cars crashed 128 times in California; one Cruise AV hit a firetruck; another hit a bus; a Waymo car delayed a firefighter rushing to a 911 call by seven minutes; a Cruise Origin embedded itself in a building in Austin, Tex., then couldn’t be moved because it didn’t have a steering wheel; and in San Francisco a Waymo car killed a dog while a Cruise AV got stuck in wet concrete.

Most of these were minor accidents, hence the fact that the woman being dragged was such a big dead (allegedly). From the data I’ve seen, even as long ago as 2018, a Google car (“Waymo”) was less likely to crash than a human. Elon has I don’t think ever reached that level, because he’s just ridiculously inept.

Now industry analysts warn there’s no way AV manufacturers can quickly convince the public that driverless transportation is safe.

James Meigs, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and former editor-in-chief of Popular Mechanics, said Panini’s San Francisco crash shows autonomous vehicles — “AVs” — aren’t “ready for the wild.”

Well. They’re not going to get ready for the “wild” by driving on tracks.

“It’s kind of like everyone’s nightmare — you know, the robot doesn’t stop,” Meigs told The Post.

…

Uber abandoned its attempt at robotaxis entirely in 2020 after its autonomous Volvo killed a woman in Arizona in 2018, prompting damning allegations of an “inadequate safety culture” by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Well, I’m sure her family got paid.

This whole “no one can ever die, ever” thing is out of control in America.

I mean, especially after that coronavirus vaccine, and the obesity – it’s not a country that values life at all. Look at the abortion statistics.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is now probing Cruise, not just over Panini, but three other incidents — one of which involved another pedestrian being injured.

…

Experts said the ability of machines to safely react to countless variables on crammed roads is improving exponentially, in part due to advances in artificial intelligence.

But pedestrians darting into crosswalks, abrupt traffic changes or even wayward animals pose unique hurdles for the programmers, said Jonathan Hill, dean of Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems.

“You know, you have millions and millions and millions of exceptions – and that gets really tough to test for,” Hill said. “A decade into testing these vehicles and there’s still problems. They’re still cars, they’re not perfect machines.”

Hill predicts that the growing power of artificial intelligence will lead to relatively accident-free self-driving cars becoming available in some US cities within 12 to 18 months, but cautioned that the industry is not trusted by the people it wants to use them.

Yeah, that’s because so much of the testing was done in America and there were all these crash headlines constantly.

Again: Elon was the absolute leader in this field.

He could have made some deal in Belize or Guatemala where it wouldn’t really matter if people died. That sounds callous, but it’s an industry standard of technology companies to go do deadly testing in the third world (see Pfizer’s drug testing policies – they kill a whole lot of third worlders). It sort of just is what it is, you know? People die from all kinds of things, including the advancement of civilization. The classic example is that at least five people died building the Empire State Building.

People will say “oh but modern safety standards,” but the real fact is that America simply doesn’t do “wonders of modern engineering” anymore (was Empire was at the time). In these limits-pushing projects in the Middle East and China, people die in construction probably at least a couple times a week.

Everyone dies. It’s not that big of a deal. With the car thing, before the blacks started the serious murder, and before the government unleashed the opioid crisis via widespread de facto decriminalization and legalization (refusal to enforce), human-driven cars were killing more youngish people than any other cause.

What difference does it make if a robot or a human kills you with a car? I obviously understand the arguments about the difference, but you’re dead either way.

Basically, AI maximalism is the only way forward, and none of this noise matters at all.

It’s unfortunate that Elon is so incompetent, because all things being equal, I would prefer to have him leading the charge instead of Sam Altman (who is Jewish).

But I agree with Altman on everything, other than his money-grubbing and anti-open source positions. I disagree with those positions not only because I don’t want mega-corporations and the government to be the only ones with AI, but also because it’s against the principles of AI maximalism. If we want to max out the code, it should all be open and shared by everyone. The profits of the companies will increase as a result of this, I’m certain, so the only reason you would be against opening the code is if you wanted to restrict access. Restricting access is not maximalism.

We have to just build the most intelligent possible AI as fast as possible and then just see what happens. That is the only way forward.

You can argue Pandora’s Box never should have been opened, but it is open, and probably there was no way not to open it. Now, we have to max it out and let the chips fall where they may.

“Let the chips fall out of Pandora’s Box” sounds like a Bright Eyes lyric
