Firstly, as all lesbians are aware, there is no such thing as a “bisexual.”

Arguably, there is no such thing as a “lesbian” either, though that is maybe a complicated issue, but there is definitely no such thing as a transsexual.

But lesbians are now forced to face the wrath of trannies.

A Victorian lesbian group cannot exclude transgender and bisexual women from its public events as doing so would constitute unlawful discrimination, a tribunal has ruled.

In 2023 the Lesbian Action Group (LAG) applied to the Australian Human Rights Commission for a five-year exemption under the Sex Discrimination Act (SDA) to allow it to exclude transgender and bisexual women from its public events.

The commission ruled against the LAG, so the group asked the administrative appeals tribunal, now known as the administrative review tribunal, to overturn the decision.

Late on Monday, member Stewart Fenwick handed down his finding, upholding the commission’s original decision.

In his finding, Fenwick said the applicants identified as “a discrete minority within a group in the community that is already identified by their sex and sexual orientation, characteristics that afford them the protection of the SDA”.

“They seek to actively discriminate against another group in the community identifiable by their gender identity, a characteristic also protected under the SDA.

He said “endorsing overt acts of discrimination cannot be the intended effect” of exemptions within the act.

The dykes protested, but to no avail

Nicole Mowbray from the LAG and the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Alliance Australia said the ruling was “extremely disappointing”.

Anna Brown, the CEO of Equality Australia, welcomed the tribunal’s finding “which recognises discrimination laws exist to protect all of us, especially communities that have experienced historical discrimination and marginalisation”.

“Transphobia has no place in our society and groups seeking to divide our community … do not represent the vast majority of lesbians or queer people more broadly.”

The commission argued that granting the LAG an exemption from usual gender discrimination laws could contribute to heightened health risks among transgender lesbians.

A “transgender lesbian” is just a man who puts on women’s clothes because he is either perverse or because he thinks it will increase his sexual value. Or both things.

But as long as you have lesbians in public, it’s difficult to argue that trannies shouldn’t be able to invade the lesbians.

A childcare centre in Sydney was set alight early morning on Tuesday and antisemitic graffiti was sprayed on the wall, authorities said, the latest in a spate of attacks in Australia targeting the Jewish community.

The childcare centre, located near a Jewish school and synagogue in the city’s east, suffered extensive damage but there were no reports of injuries in the attack which occurred around 1 a.m. (1400 GMT, Monday), police said.

It was the second antisemitic attack on property in four days in Sydney, and comes amid a spate of similar crimes targeting the Jewish community in Australia’s most-populous city.

New South Wales state Premier Chris Minns said the perpetrators would be caught and police had put more resources into investigating hate crimes, as public frustration grows over the lack of arrests following previous antisemitic attacks.

“The kind of people who would … attack a fellow Australian whom they don’t know because of their race or religion, it is completely disgusting and these bastards will be rounded up by the police,” Minns said during a media briefing.

Australia has seen a rise in antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents since Israel retaliated against an attack by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, with an assault on Gaza that has left tens of thousands of people dead. At least half a dozen incidents were reported in the last two months in Sydney alone.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the latest attack as “a vicious crime.”

Albanese is facing a national election due by May and antisemitism is shaping as a key issue, with the opposition criticising him as “weak” for not doing enough to prevent hate crimes against Jews.

In response to the spate of attacks, the Australian federal police has launched a task force to investigate threats and violence against the Jewish community.

British television viewers are fuming after the UK’s Channel Five edited crucial scenes of the classic Aussie film, Crocodile Dundee, for a Boxing Day broadcast.

The film, released in 1986, follows Paul Hogan as Northern Territory crocodile hunter Mick Dundee as he is introduced to life in New York City by journalist Sue Charlton, played by Linda Kozlowski, who would go on to marry Hogan.

The movie’s tagline at the time was “From the Outback of Australia to urban jungle of New York, there’s no wilderness he can’t tame!”

The film was aired at 5.15pm, a family friendly time, with several scenes cut from the movie, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Among those scenes are a sequence in which Mick meets transgender woman Gwendoline in a New York bar, approaches her and grabs her groin area.

Also cut from the broadcast was a scene in which Mick asks limousine driver Gus about his heritage.

However, perhaps one of the biggest disappointments was the decision to cut the iconic scene in which a man pulls a knife on Mick and Sue, to which the Aussie responds: ‘That’s not a knife, this is a knife.’

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has revealed for the first time that one in 20 Australians are lesbian, gay, bi, trans or gender diverse, or intersex (LGBTI+).

According to ABS head of health statistics, Robert Long, this is the “first nationally representative data of their kind in Australia”.

Young Australians were more likely to be LGBTI+, with 9.5% of people aged 16 to 24, and 7.5% in the 25-34 category identifying as LGBTI+. Overall, 4.5% of Australians aged 16 and over identified as LGBTI+.

The jurisdictions with the most LGBTI+ people were in the ACT (5.9%) and Victoria (5.3%), statistically significantly more than other states and territories – although LGBTI+ people are found across the country.

The ABS combined data from almost 45,000 people who took part in a health survey.

About 740,000 people are lesbian, gay, bisexual or use a different term to describe their sexual orientation.

One in three from those communities are married or in a de facto relationship.

Almost 179,000 people – less than 1% – are trans and gender diverse, including trans men, trans women and non-binary people.

The 2026 Australian census will include questions on gender and sexual orientation for people aged 16 years and over.

Equality Australia chief executive, Anna Brown, said until now almost 1 million people have been hidden.

“Our communities deserve to be counted and to feel seen,” she said.

Australia’s parliament has passed a world-first law banning social media for children under 16, putting tech companies on notice to tighten security before a cut-off date that’s yet to be set.

The Senate approved the social media ban late on Thursday, the last sitting day of the year, following months of intense public debate and a rushed parliamentary process that saw the bill introduced, debated and passed within a week.

Under the new law, tech companies must take “reasonable steps” to prevent under-age users from accessing social media services or face fines of nearly 50 million Australian dollars ($32 million).

It’s the world’s toughest response yet to a problem that has seen other countries impose restrictions but not hold companies accountable for breaches of a nationwide ban. The ban is expected to apply to Snapchat, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit and X, but that list could expand.

Wtf is “X”?

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told legislators that “every serious government” was grappling with the impact of social media on young people, and the leaders he’d spoken to had applauded Australia’s initiative on the issue.

“We know that social media can be a weapon for bullies, a platform for peer pressure, a driver of anxiety, a vehicle for scammers. And worst of all, a tool for online predators,” he told Parliament on Monday.

A poll by YouGov conducted this month showed that 77% of Australians support the under-16 ban. The survey was conducted in the second half of this month and sought the views of 1,515 people with a margin of error of 3.2%.

Now the law has passed, consultation is expected to take place before the government sets a switch-off date. After that, all children under 16 with accounts on social media platforms subject to the ban will have them deactivated.

Parents and children won’t be penalized for flouting the ban, but companies will need to show that they’ve taken reasonable steps to keep under-age users off.

See? They’re not even punishing the people who violate the law, they’re just restricting the companies themselves.

Australia’s highest court ruled Wednesday that migrants can’t be forced by law to wear electronic tracking bracelets or to comply with curfews.

The ruling is a blow to the government, whose lawyers have unsuccessfully argued that laws imposing curfews and tracking technology are justified to protect the community.

Five of the seven High Court judges ruled that the tough restrictions placed on more than 100 migrants, usually because of their criminal records, were unconstitutional because the conditions amounted to punishment. The constitution states that punishment must be imposed by judges, not lawmakers.

The restrictions were part of emergency laws hastily passed in December in response to another High Court ruling that non-citizens could no longer be detained indefinitely as an alternative to deportation. That ruling in the case of a stateless Rohingya man reversed a 28-year-old High Court precedent that allowed indefinite detention where there were security concerns.

Wednesday’s ruling means the government can no longer electronically track the more than 200 non-citizens with criminal records who were released and, for a variety of reasons, couldn’t be deported.

The latest High Court case was brought by a 36-year-old stateless man, identified as YBFZ, who was born in Eritrea. His family initially fled to Ethiopia because they feared persecution in their homeland as Jehovah’s Witnesses, and they arrived in Australia as refugees in 2002.

His refugee visa was canceled in 2017 due to convictions including burglary and recklessly causing injury, part of a criminal record that extended for more than a decade. He was held in custody until 2023, when the High Court outlawed indefinite detention.

Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Thursday the government would legislate for a ban on social media for children under 16, a policy the government says is world-leading.

“Social media is doing harm to our kids and I’m calling time on it,” Albanese told a news conference.
Legislation will be introduced into parliament this year, with the laws coming into effect 12 months after it is ratified by lawmakers, he added.

There will be no exemptions for users who have parental consent.

Social media is definitely not good for people.

A former Queensland Labor MP has been ordered to pay more than $150,000 for making Facebook posts depicting a lobby group CEO as Jabba the Hutt.

Rob Pyne, now a Cairns councillor, was the MP for Cairns from 2015 until 2017.

District court judge Dean Morzone found Pyne and another north Queenslander, Lyn Elizabeth O’Connor, had defamed Greg Hallam, the former CEO of the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), by implying he was “corrupt”.

Morzone awarded Hallam more than $500,000 dollars in damages, with O’Connor and Pyne ordered to pay $346,131 and $157,261 respectively.

That’s over 300K US dollars.

In a Facebook post from June 2017, Pyne wrote a message thanking those who supported a Queensland Icac and criticising “those in power”. The post included a meme of the character Jabba the Hutt, from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Pyne was elected as MP of Cairns in 2015, becoming Queensland’s first ever quadriplegic politician, but resigned from the Labor party in 2016.

Morzone found that, though Pyne’s posts do not name Hallam, the image featuring Jabba the Hut was “likely to be read and understood by the ordinary reasonable reader to refer to the plaintiff” because he “exhibited similar physical features” to the fictional character.

“The plaintiff’s physical appearance, including his obesity was publicly recognisable,” the judgment reads.

Three witnesses told the court they understood the publication as referring to Hallam.

In late August, Pyne made another post including a complaint about corruption where he called for a state election.

Pyne stood as an independent at the November 2017 state election but was defeated.

Hallam and others told the court he had suffered a significant decline in his mental health due to the “online harassment” by the two defendants. He suffered “insomnia, agitation, irritability, and severe nightmares” as a result of the posts and had an “emotional breakdown” while reading legal documents in Ireland, he said. He was later diagnosed with a psychiatric condition.

“He made claims of significant weight gain and increased alcohol consumption, although these are difficult to gauge against a background of his pre-existing obesity and drinking habits,” Morzone ruled.

Pyne’s four defamatory posts were published online from 21 June to 23 August 2017. They were deleted in 2018.

O’Connor’s 36 defamatory posts were made between 10 June 2017 and 9 December 2019.

The court found Pyne “has never apologised” to Hallam.

Hallam was awarded aggravated damages.

More than one in 10 Australian teenagers identify as gay, bisexual, pansexual or asexual, a survey of high school students has found.

Researchers surveyed 6,388 year 8 students between 2019 and 2021, finding that 12% of the teens reported diverse sexualities, while 3.3% identified as gender-diverse.

The findings, the study’s authors say, highlight an “urgent need” for support services in schools and healthcare settings to mitigate against an increased risk of stigma, discrimination and violence.

“We need child health policies that provide inclusion and support of diverse gender identities and diverse sexualities from a young age,” said the study’s lead author, Dr Jennifer Marino, a senior research fellow at the University of Sydney. “School and health settings particularly need to be safe spaces for very young adolescents.”

Teens who identified as transgender or non-binary were twice as likely to report having a disability or a mental health diagnosis.

Well, that’s just a coincidence.

Marino said that finding warranted more research. “We have long known that both sexuality- and gender-diverse … older adolescents and adults have increased risk of various mental health issues relative to their cisgender, heterosexual peers. The evidence all points to minority stress as being the principal driver of that – discrimination and stigma that affect health and social standing,” they said. “I don’t have any reason to think that younger adolescents would be any less vulnerable than their older peers.”

The last National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing, released in 2023, found that 58.7% of people who identified as non-heterosexual had a mental disorder in the previous year, compared with 19.9% of those identifying as heterosexual.

In the new study, the proportion of teens identifying as gender-diverse was slightly higher than previous research conducted in New Zealand and the United States.

“There’s an association between younger age and gender diversity,” Marino said, suggesting that the findings could be due to the researchers surveying a younger cohort than previously studied.

Existing research suggests “most children understand from a really young age who they are in terms of their gender”, they said. “The evidence suggests that regardless of how they’re actually interacting with other young people romantically, young people are thinking about … their identities early in adolescence.”

Citing overseas research with similar findings, Marino said the proportion of young teenagers identifying as sexuality diverse seems to have “stabilised in this 9% to 12% range in earlier adolescence”.

It’s strange that this child tranny thing appeared in Australia, on the other side of the world, at the same time it appeared in America.

You’d think that such a phenomenon of souls being switched into the wrong bodies would happen in a geographically isolated location. But instead, it’s happened in every democracy country, while avoiding every non-democracy country.

Students in Victoria, Australia, are challenging their Methodist school’s ban on cross necklaces deemed “offensive,” receiving praise from a local pastor.

At Methodist Ladies’ College, a prestigious girls’ school in Melbourne, students have been asked to remove cross necklaces because they might offend others, the Herald Sun reported.

“My friend was wearing a cross and there was another girl in our class who said she found the cross really offensive and so the teacher told her to take it off,” an anonymous student was quoted as saying. “My friend’s parents, who are very religious, tried to get answers from the school and were told ‘it’s not a good look for the school.’”

MLC was founded by the Wesleyan Methodist Church in 1882 and charges around $39,000 a year in fees for Year 12 students, Premier Christian News noted, adding that the school has a strict dress code policy regarding makeup, jewelry and long hair.

“This is supposed to be a religious school but they are listening to minority opinion rather than mainstream religious students,” another student was quoted as saying.

Pastor Murray Campbell criticized the school’s actions in a blog post, noted Sky News.

“Well done to the girls who are standing up to the bullish behavior of the school. Well done to the students who are defending their fellow students, whether they are of Christian faith or not,” the pastor was quoted as saying.

Stephen Chavura, a history lecturer and author, told Sky News, “We know now that the word inclusivity means exclusivity, and the word diversity means uniformity, but I want to praise these girls for standing up to woke bullying.”

He encouraged students, stating, “Wear your crosses, if you have a cross turn up to school and wear it, send a message to other students and teachers and to the school in general, that this is a Christian school, it is not a Marxist woke school.”

According to reports, while some students were asked to remove crosses, others were allegedly allowed to wear furry ears, tails and rainbow-themed items.
