There is growing evidence that a common artificial sweetener is associated with an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

This whole artificial sweetener thing is such a stupid scam. Your body registers it as a sweetener. All of this stuff is processed by your brain. I don’t know why this is confusing. I guess it’s simply that people are stupid.

Here’s what happens: even if it has zero calories, your body thinks it’s a sweetener, because it’s designed to make your body think that. So it raises your blood glucose levels, which leads to artery hardening, and it increases insulin resistance. The fact that it is zero calories is virtually irrelevant. It’s only 150 calories in a can of soda pop in the first place, and the problem (at least with habitual consumption) is that it’s pure sugar.

If you actually wanted some kind of chemical “solution” that would allow you to consume unlimited amounts of sugary food and not cause obesity, you would need some kind of neural manipulation drug that would tell your brain to just immediately turn sugars into feces, rather than storing them as fat. (Although such a drug would presumably be totally impossible, because telling your brain to tell your body to never produce any glucose would kill you, and figuring out how to regulate levels would be impossible, and you might as well just start selling soda pop with an insulin needle attached to it.)

You understand the basic nature of fat: this is your body storing calories for future use. If you are eating like an American eats, your brain assumes you are preparing for a long period where you will not have access to food. It is storing calories as fat cells for future use. This goes back to ancient times, when people would sometimes overeat, and put a bit of fat on their bodies, because they knew there was a period of no food coming in the future. As you age, your lip turnover rate decreases, so you store more fat, because your body assumes you’re not going to be out hunting or fishing or collecting berries quite as much as a young person.

Bottom line: if you want the sugar, and you can’t resist it, just drink the normal soda pop. Ideally, you get one with cane sugar instead of corn syrup, because that is better. But these artificial sugars are much worse than sugar. Sugar doesn’t cause cancer or dementia, it just makes you fat, and the artificial sweeteners are going to make you fat anyway by telling your brain to build insulin resistance and raise blood glucose levels.

CNN:

Consuming a drink with erythritol — an artificial sweetener used to add bulk to stevia and monk fruit and to sweeten low-carb keto products — more than doubled the risk of blood clotting in 10 healthy people, according to a new pilot study.

Clots can break off blood vessels and travel to the heart, triggering a heart attack, or to the brain, triggering a stroke. Previous research has linked erythritol to a higher risk of stroke, heart attack and death.

“What is remarkable is that in every single subject, every measure of platelet responsiveness (clotting) went up following the erythritol ingestion,” said lead study author Dr. Stanley Hazen, director of the Center for Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Prevention at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute.

Consuming a drink with an equal amount of glucose, or sugar, did not affect blood platelet activity in another group of 10 people, said Hazen, who is also the Jan Bleeksma chair in vascular cell biology and atherosclerosis at the Cleveland Clinic.

“This is the first direct head-to-head comparison of the effects of ingesting glucose versus ingesting erythritol on multiple different measures of platelet function,” Hazen said. “Glucose doesn’t impact clotting, but erythritol does.”

This was already known about the previous “artificial sweeteners.” These things get a bad name, like aspartame, and then they release a new version that is basically the exact same thing and say “no but this one is the real magic chemical.”

I’m against all processed foods. I mean, if you want to hit up McDonald’s breakfast or have a pizza once or twice a month, that won’t kill you, but in general, you want to keep that shit to a minimum if you want to be healthy and not fat.

Any of these “low fat” or “low calorie” alternatives just make things worse. If you want the soda, just drink the soda. Just don’t drink it every day.

You should really find something else to enjoy. Switch out the soda pop for coffee, tea, or vodka, for example.

What makes me angriest about this is that there is a war on smoking.

I’ve never said smoking was healthy. I might have said that, actually. There are health benefits. But while I do not accept that “nicotine causes cancer” (those are rat studies that you can look into – no human has ever gotten cancer from non-cigarette nicotine exclusively), I do accept that inhaling any kind of particulate matter into your lungs is probably not the best thing to do.

This has turned into this whole thing, where they say marijuana smoke is healthier than cigarette smoke, and that is just obvious bullshit. THC probably doesn’t cause cancer (I’ve seen no evidence that it does), but neither does nicotine. The issue is the inhaling of smoke, which contains particulate matter, into your lungs – and there is a whole helluva lot more particulate matter in weed than in cigarettes. Have you ever seen someone hit a bong? They go into coughing fits. Even smoking a joint people start coughing. They say it makes them higher, which I can probably accept as logical, but that is clearly not healthy. It would be the same thing if they were choking on smoking from burning wood. Smoke inhalation, or any kind, is probably not especially healthy, all things considered, and it could lead to tumor formation.

However: cigarettes are like the least unhealthy thing on the market.

I don’t do the vape thing anymore, unless I’m in some fascist hotel or a movie theater or something, because I don’t know what the hell that shit is. But normal cigarettes are a lot healthier than sugar or seed oils or soy or any of these processed foods.

Official studies show that 14% of smokers die from smoking. I don’t believe that at all, I think the number is way lower, because in America, mostly working class or poor people smoke, and those people are way more likely to experience continued exposure to industrial chemicals. There is no “cancer smoking” study that controls for exposure to industrial chemicals, meaning all of these studies are worthless, and I think you effectively have almost no chance of dying from smoking, because various other old age diseases will kill you first.

Regardless: even if it is 14%, that is so, so much healthier than being obese.

The war on smoking is like the “coronavirus vaccine” campaign. It’s a huge scam.

The question is: why are they so obsessed with smoking.

Study: Maniacal Artificial Sweetener Xylitol Could Double Risk of Heart Attacks, Strokes, Death https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/06/08/study-maniacal-artificial-sweetener-xylitol-could-double-risk-of-heart-attacks-strokes-death/ Sat, 08 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000

Every few years, there is some new magical “sweetener” that is supposed to give you the joys of sugar without the consequences (the primary consequence being obesity and its consequences). Every single time, a few years after the sweetener is introduced, it is revealed that it is a toxic chemical that causes all kinds of problems.

Further: judging by the people I see drinking Diet Soda, it doesn’t appear to help much with obesity either.

There is a life lesson here: nothing is free. If you want to indulge in the joys of sugar, you are going to have to deal with the consequences. For normal, healthy people, they can have a sugary desert now and again, and not end up obese. But if you want to replace water with soda, and just drink that crap all day, you’re going to end up with a problem.

CNN:

A low-calorie sweetener called xylitol used in many reduced-sugar foods and consumer products such as gum and toothpaste may be linked to nearly twice the risk of heart attacks, stroke and death in people who consume the highest levels of the sweetener, a new study found.

“We gave healthy volunteers a typical drink with xylitol to see how high the levels would get and they went up 1,000-fold,” said senior study author Dr. Stanley Hazen, director of the Center for Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Prevention at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute.

“When you eat sugar, your glucose level may go up 10% or 20% but it doesn’t go up a 1,000-fold,” said Hazen, who also directs the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Microbiome and Human Health.

“Humankind has not experienced levels of xylitol this high except within the last couple of decades when we began ingesting completely contrived and sugar-substituted processed foods,” he added.

This is the problem.

People should be eat real foods. There is no way around that reality. There is no trick. You have to either eat whole foods, or deal with the consequences. Nothing is free. Maybe it is worth it to you to be a fat slob in order to indulge in chemical crap, but even if that is the case: just drink normal sugar.

Do not mess with these “deal with the devil” chemicals.

In 2023, the same researchers found similar results for another low-calorie sweetener called erythritol, which is used as a bulking sugar in stevia, monkfruit and keto reduced-sugar products.

Some health food people are still promoting stevia. These people are vicious retards.

The only “healthy” sugar is from fruit, and even that is not really very healthy.

Additional lab and animal research presented in both papers revealed erythritol and xylitol may cause blood platelets to clot more readily. Clots can break off and travel to the heart, triggering a heart attack, or to the brain, triggering a stroke.

…

“Xylitol is cheaper to make than cane sugar and so more and more keeps getting incorporated as a sugar substitute into food. Some 12-ounce drinks that use xylitol as a major artificial sweetener can contain 30 grams or more,” he said. “You can even buy it in bulk at the grocery store where you’re told to use as a one-to-one substitute for sugar in home cooking.”

Research has shown some artificial sweeteners may create a backlash in the metabolic system, triggering the body to expect more calories, thus making weight loss more difficult.

It is literally a “weight loss substitute” that makes you fatter.

People are so retarded.

WHO to Announce Alex Jones was Right About Aspartame, Sources Say https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/06/30/who-to-announce-alex-jones-was-right-about-aspartame-sources-say/ Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 +0000

— LibertySource (@LibertySource) June 29, 2023

The fact that people drink artificial sweeteners every day is one of the most shocking facts I’ve come across.

It’s like people who jog.

Actually, it’s probably the same exact people – drinking cancerous aspartame after a joint-destroying jog.

Reuters:

One of the world’s most common artificial sweeteners is set to be declared a possible carcinogen next month by a leading global health body, according to two sources with knowledge of the process, pitting it against the food industry and regulators.

Aspartame, used in products from Coca-Cola diet sodas to Mars’ Extra chewing gum and some Snapple drinks, will be listed in July as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” for the first time by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the World Health Organization’s (WHO) cancer research arm, the sources said.

The IARC ruling, finalised earlier this month after a meeting of the group’s external experts, is intended to assess whether something is a potential hazard or not, based on all the published evidence.

It does not take into account how much of a product a person can safely consume. This advice for individuals comes from a separate WHO expert committee on food additives, known as JECFA (the Joint WHO and Food and Agriculture Organization’s Expert Committee on Food Additives), alongside determinations from national regulators.

…

JECFA, the WHO committee on additives, is also reviewing aspartame use this year. Its meeting began at the end of June and it is due to announce its findings on the same day that the IARC makes public its decision – on July 14.

Since 1981, JECFA has said aspartame is safe to consume within accepted daily limits. For example, an adult weighing 60 kg (132 pounds) would have to drink between 12 and 36 cans of diet soda – depending on the amount of aspartame in the beverage – every day to be at risk. Its view has been widely shared by national regulators, including in the United States and Europe.

An IARC spokesperson said both the IARC and JECFA committees’ findings were confidential until July, but added they were “complementary”, with IARC’s conclusion representing “the first fundamental step to understand carcinogenicity”. The additives committee “conducts risk assessment, which determines the probability of a specific type of harm (e.g. cancer) to occur under certain conditions and levels of exposure.”

This idea that “a little bit of poison won’t hurt you” was always moronic. We know it doesn’t kill you immediately, but it builds up in your body and causes a slow failure of all systems, eventually materializing as cancer.

This is so obvious.

If you added a small amount of roach killer to your soda pop every day for years, it would do the same thing.

Sometimes, in old stories and novels, this is actually a way to murder someone – put a small amount of poison in their drink/food over an extended period of time.

This is also why people in the Third World have shorter life expectancies – sometimes by 10-15 years – than Westerners, even though Westerners are much fatter and eat a generally worse diet: because they don’t have any regulations at all on these industrial chemicals that were brought in from the West. (People who have lived in the Third World will know exactly what I’m talking about.)

I don’t know how people are so stupid as to think cancer is somehow a natural thing, and everyone should be getting all these different kinds of cancer constantly.

It’s very obvious that this is not the case.

A lot of people see stuff like this and say “Alex Jones was right.”

It’s a fine enough meme, I guess.

But a lot of other people have said this stuff.

Jones just commercialized it and sanitized it to remove the Jew issue, then made tens of millions of dollars a year off repeating other people’s materials.

Fake Sweetener “Splenda” Contains Toxic Chemical That Damages DNA https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/06/08/fake-sweetener-splenda-contains-toxic-chemical-that-damages-dna/ Thu, 08 Jun 2023 00:00:00 +0000

I’ve been telling people for 20 years that they’d be better off drinking corn syrup than Splenda.

No one listens to me.

That’s the story of my entire life: people not listening, even though I am always right about everything.

People have known about Splenda for years. This shit literally is not a sweetener, but tells your brain it is a sweetener. Why would anyone think that was safe?

If you’re that in need of sweet taste, you might as well just start doing fentanyl for your dopamine fix.

New York Post:

America’s favorite artificial sweetener could have some bitter health effects, including damage to your DNA.

Splenda is the brand name for sucralose, often added to diet sodas, baked goods, chewing gum, gelatins and frozen desserts.

It’s even found in drug products like Tylenol, Pepcid and cold and flu medicines.

Splenda is 600 times sweeter than sugar and is the best-selling artificial sweetener in America, with sales roughly double those of its nearest rival, Sweet’n Low.

But sucralose has been found to be genotoxic, meaning it breaks apart the DNA in chromosomes and can lead to cancer, according to new research published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health.

In the human body, sucralose breaks down into a compound called sucralose-6-acetate, which can damage the lining of the intestine.

“Other studies have found that sucralose can adversely affect gut health, so we wanted to see what might be happening there,” Susan Schiffman, PhD, study author and adjunct professor at North Carolina State University, said in a news release.

What they found was alarming: “Sucralose-6-acetate significantly increased the expression of genes associated with inflammation, oxidative stress and cancer,” the study authors wrote.

“Our in vitro studies used human tissue, so the findings are directly relevant for the human body,” Dr. Schiffman added.

The new study adds to earlier research that finds sucralose and sucralose-6-acetate can also cause intestinal damage.

“When we exposed sucralose and sucralose-6-acetate to gut epithelial tissues — the tissue that lines your gut wall — we found that both chemicals cause ‘leaky gut,’” Dr. Schiffman said.

“Basically, they make the wall of the gut more permeable. A leaky gut is problematic because it means that things that would normally be flushed out of the body in feces are instead leaking out of the gut and being absorbed into the bloodstream,” Dr. Schiffman added.

It’s a bigger problem than that. Your entire immune system and even your cognitive function is linked to your gut. Your gut regulates the entire bacterial makeup of your body, and it regulates your hormone system.

“Independent scientific studies show that ingestion of sucralose can damage the cell membranes of the gut and cause irritable bowel syndrome,” Dr. Schiffman told Newsweek.

The makers of artificial sweeteners, however, assert that their products are safe.

Imagine that!

“Sucralose has undergone one of the most extensive and thorough testing programs conducted on any food additive in history, resulting in consensus on its safety throughout the global scientific and regulatory community,” a representative for the International Sweetener Association told Newsweek.

Some health experts also question the relevance of the new study.

“The findings raise potentially concerning findings that deserve further study, but do not practically reflect what occasional or even frequent ingestion of sucralose-sweetened food and beverages have on health,” Dr. John Damianos, a hospital resident at Yale School of Medicine, told Medical News Today.

Nonetheless, artificial sweeteners have been scrutinized for years, and several studies have linked the products to health risks.

A 2020 study published in the journal Cell Metabolism found that sucralose in combination with carbohydrates (like those in baked goods) can swiftly turn a healthy person into one with high blood sugar, the Washington Post reports.

…

Considering the risks of all added sweeteners — artificial as well as natural — Dr. Damianos encourages people to consider healthy, low- or no-sugar options.

“Instead of soda or diet soda, switch to seltzer water,” Dr. Damianos recommends, adding, “Instead of highly processed foods and drinks to satisfy that sweet tooth, grab fruits with their natural sugars paired with an abundance of health-promoting fiber and phytonutrients.”

Fake sugar is literally less healthy than anything else, including and especially real sugar.

Imagine that the government goes around whining about cigarette smoking, when studies showing that tobacco and nicotine are unhealthy are much more contested than the studies showing that most of what is put in processed food is highly dangerous and even volatile.

Just eat food, retards.

Stop eating this processed crap, which many insects won’t even eat.

Tricking your brain into thinking that you’re eating something sweet appears to have unintended consequences.

The Hour:

A study published in the journal Cell Metabolism by a group of Yale researchers found that the consumption of the common artificial sweetener sucralose (which is found in Splenda, Zerocal, Sukrana, SucraPlus and other brands) in combination with carbohydrates can swiftly turn a healthy person into one with high blood sugar.

From whole grain English muffins to reduced-sugar ketchup, sucralose is found in thousands of baked goods, condiments, syrups and other consumer packaged goods – almost all of them containing carbs.

The finding, which researchers noted has yet to be replicated in other studies, raises new questions about the use of artificial sweeteners and their effects on weight gain and overall health.

In the Yale study, researchers took 60 healthy-weight individuals and separated them into three groups: A group that consumed a regular-size beverage containing the equivalent of two packets of sucralose sweetener, a second group that consumed a beverage sweetened with table sugar at the equivalent sweetness, and a third control group that had a beverage with the artificial sweetener as well as a carbohydrate called maltodextrin.

The molecules of maltodextrin don’t bind to taste receptors in the mouth and are impossible to detect. While the sensation of the third group’s beverage was identical to the sucralose-only group, only this group exhibited significant adverse health effects.

The artificial sweetener by itself seemed to be fine, the researchers discovered, but that changed when combined with a carbohydrate. Seven beverages over two weeks and the previously healthy people in this group became glucose intolerant, a metabolic condition that results in elevated blood glucose levels and puts people at an increased risk for diabetes.

The finding follows a study in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine last year that found that consumption of two or more glasses of artificially sweetened soft drinks a day increased deaths from circulatory diseases. And a 2008 study by scientists at Purdue University showed that artificial sweeteners alone could result in higher blood pressure, weight gain, and increased risk of diabetes, stroke and heart disease in rats.

Ingesting mystery chemicals because they trick your mind into thinking you’re tasting something sweet is a bad idea on many different levels.

This situation where people want to eat “diet” stuff full of chemicals, hoping to lose fat or to prevent fat gain, is only possible in a sick culture of overabundance and overexcitement that has turned food into addictive products.

Pictured: drugs.

Hunger has been mixed with anxiety.

People eat and eat and eat and barely get any meaningful nutrition, then they look forward to the next meal that will hyper-stimulate their taste buds.

Food products work like drugs.

People build tolerance to the level of taste-excitement they provide, and then they enter a vicious cycle of looking for the next great flavor, fueled by their need for actual nutrients.

Pictured: a junkie.

We should be eating the food that people from more than a hundred years ago would have recognized as foods.

Real food.
