In 2020, non-French migrants were accused of being behind 80 per cent of the violent thefts on the Paris region public transit system and 62 per cent of the acts of sexual violence.

The figures released by the French Interior ministry show the backgrounds of those accused of various crimes on public transit systems in the Ille-de-France region, as well as the rest of the country.

In the Ille-de-France region, which includes the city of Paris and its various suburbs, French nationals made up just 20 per cent of those accused of robbery with violence on public transit, while foreigners made up 80 per cent, the largest number, 61 per cent, coming from the North African region.

For thefts without violence, such as pickpocketing, French nationals were even lower at just eight per cent of those accused, while foreigners made up 92 per cent, with North Africans again being the single largest group at 59 per cent.

In terms of those accused of sexual violence aboard public transit in the Paris region, French nationals represented 38 per cent of those accused, while foreigners accounted for 62 per cent, with sub-Saharan Africans being the largest represented group among foreigners at 23 per cent.

The figures come just over three years since a Paris police officer admitted in 2018 that the majority of sex attackers on the Paris metro system were migrants from North African backgrounds.

Once a world-renowned sports physician treating America’s foremost Olympic women gymnasts, Larry Nassar now will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The disgraced former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison, a judge announced Wednesday, after more than 150 women and girls said in court that he sexually abused them over the past two decades.

“I’ve just signed your death warrant,” Judge Rosemarie Aquilina said in a Lansing, Michigan, courtroom. “I find that you don’t get it, that you’re a danger. That you remain a danger.”
Nassar had pleaded guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct in Ingham County in Michigan and admitted to using his trusted medical position to assault and molest girls under the guise of medical treatment.

Olympic medalist McKayla Maroney alleges USA Gymnastics tried to silence her for almost a year by making her sign non-disclosure agreements as part of a financial settlement, which she used to pay for psychological treatment, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday in California’s Superior Court, per NBC News.

The agreement was allegedly signed months before the initial accusations against former Team USA doctor Dr. Larry Nassar surfaced. He pleaded guilty in November to multiple charges of sexual assault before being sentenced to 60 years in prison the following month in a separate child pornography case.

“Plaintiff alleges that Defendant USAG had a plan to keep the sexual abuse of [ Dr. Larry] Nassar quiet, and allow Nassar to quietly leave USAG, further silence his victims,” the court docs claim.

Maroney’s lawsuit also alleges USA Gymnastics wanted a confidentiality accord so “it could further conceal and shield from public scrutiny, outside investigation, and law enforcement, the true nature of Nassar’s horrific sexual abuse of minors.”

Two-time Olympic medalist McKayla Maroney has accused former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar of molesting her for several years, starting when she was 13.

Maroney, 21, made the allegation early Wednesday morning in a Twitter post with the hashtag #MeToo, which women have been using recently to share stories of being sexually abused and harassed in the wake of multiple allegations against powerful Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Maroney, who in 2012 won a team gold medal and a silver for vault, goes on to accuse Nassar of molesting her under guise of giving her what he said was “medically necessary treatment that he had been performing on patients for over 30 years.”

“It seemed whenever and wherever this man could find the chance, I was ‘treated,'” she wrote. “It happened in London before my team and I won the gold medal, and it happened before I won my Silver.

“For me, the scariest night of my life happened when I was 15 years old. I had flown all day and night with the team to get to Tokyo. He’d given me a sleeping pill for the flight, and the next thing I know, I was all alone with him in his hotel room getting a ‘treatment.’ I thought I was going to die that night.”

Already in a Michigan jail awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography this summer, Nassar is awaiting trial after being charged in February with sexually abusing nine gymnasts. He also has been sued by more than 125 women and girls alleging abuse.

Nassar has denied the charges. His lawyers and USA Gymnastics didn’t immediately return the Associated Press’ requests for comment on Maroney’s allegations.

A pair of Syrian asylum seekers were arrested during their asylum application in Austria after the man whose car they had stolen turned up to the same police station at the same time as them to report the crime.

The Syrians are said to have stolen the parked car in the western Austrian town of Bregenz on Saturday afternoon. The crime occurred at around 1:30 pm according to police, who identified the two men later from video footage taken near the scene, Kronen Zeitungreports.

After stealing the car the pair drove to the local police station where they told authorities they wished to apply for asylum. At the same time, the owner of the stolen car arrived at the police station to report the theft and was placed in the room next to the two asylum seekers.

If I had gone to college in America, I probably would be able to identify how White privilege magically combined itself with colonialism and colorism in order to get these two oppressed child refugees mercilessly thrown down the racist crime-to-prison pipeline.

Police were able to examine footage taken by a witness of the crime and positively identify that the asylum seekers were the ones who stole the vehicle and promptly transferred them to Feldkirch Prison at the request of the local prosecutor.

A jury found Sherif Rizk, 23, guilty of felony assault for his role in the violent melee which left Massachusetts man Kevin McCarron unconscious on MacDougal Street in the early morning hours of Dec 13, 2012.

McCarron sustained a fractured skull and permanent brain damage, he testified at the trial in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Rizk was acquitted of attacking Kevin but found guilty of assault for hitting his brother Patrick with a bat during the street tussle.

The conflict escalated when Rizk’s group retrieved an arsenal of weapons from the trunk of his car.

His lawyer argued for a no jail sentence citing his client’s minor role in the fracas and his enrollment in a master’s degree program at Brooklyn College.

But Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin didn’t let Rizk off the hook with a slap on the wrist.

Farsakh told police the fight erupted when a member of McCarron’s group used a racial slur aimed at their Arab background.
