Who are they demanding do what to who?

Do they want the cops to arrest the FPO members? Or what? What is the meaning of the protest? When you protest, you are asking for something, no? What are they asking for?

Talks to form a coalition government led by Austria’s far-right Freedom Party (FPO) will begin on Friday, the party said on Thursday, as thousands protested in Vienna against the prospect of the country’s first FPO-led government.

The eurosceptic, Russia-friendly FPO won September’s parliamentary election with around 29% of the vote but was initially sidelined as centrist parties tried to form a ruling coalition without it. That effort failed at the weekend, and FPO leader Herbert Kickl was tasked with forming a government.

“First step: negotiations on the budget as of tomorrow,” Kickl said in a statement on Thursday evening while protesters carrying placards reading “Nazis out” and “History is repeating itself” gathered in the square that stands between the offices of the president and the chancellor.

Chancellor Karl Nehammer of the conservative People’s Party (OVP), who had led the centrist coalition talks, said on Saturday he was stepping down because they had collapsed. His successor as head of the caretaker government, Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, is due to take over on Friday.

Various non-governmental organisations that deal with human rights, refugees and the environment called Thursday’s protest, Thursday being the day for demonstrations when the FPO was in power as a junior coalition partner – its only experience of government – most recently with the OVP in 2019.

“Our republic is at a crossroads,” the organisers said in a statement. “The threat of an extreme right-wing chancellor looms and with him an attack on democracy, human rights, judiciary, independent media and social cohesion in our country.”

More than 10,000 protesters packed tightly together on the square and streets leading into it whistled, jeered and shone their phone lights towards the chancellor’s office, chanting “Kickl out” in a peaceful atmosphere.

The OVP, which under Nehammer said it would not govern with Kickl, calling him a conspiracy theorist and a security threat, now says under interim leader Christian Stocker that it prefers to reach a coalition deal with Kickl to holding a snap election.

Support for the FPO has only increased since September, polls show, and the party now has a lead of more than 10 percentage points over the OVP.

German bank Berliner Volksbank has closed the donation account of the right-wing antiglobalist opposition party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) following a petition by a group calling itself Grandmothers Against the Right (Omas gegen Rechts).

The group launched their petition in May, stating that the bank, which claims to stand for tolerance and against right-wing extremism, should not be allowed to accommodate an account for the AfD. The organisation handed over 33,500 signatures to the bank on Wednesday, July 3rd, to demand the termination of the account, and after meeting the chairman of the board of directors, Carsten Jung, Grandmothers Against the Right announced that their venture has been successful.

Though the Berliner Volksbank itself did not confirm the closure of AfD’s account, citing banking secrecy, the fact that donations can no longer be transferred is clearly visible on the party’s website. The only donation option left for supporters of the party is sending money through PayPal.

But he’s been to 15 banks in America and 20+ banks outside of America, and he can’t use banking.

Gregor Hackmack, a board member of the online petition platform innn.it, through which the signatures were collected, justified the initiative by saying that the AfD is “outside the constitutional order.” It was about reminding the bank of its “values,” Hackmack said, adding that the Berliner Volksbank’s move could now “be an example for other banks,” such as the Berliner Sparkasse, which manages the account of the AfD’s Berlin state association.

AfD, which is currently the second strongest party in Germany and one of the most popular among young voters, is being hounded by the political elite and mainstream media for its anti-immigration stance: there have been calls for the party to be banned for allegedly endangering the democratic order, and it is legally being spied upon by the intelligence services.

The bank account termination is not the first of its kind. As we previously reported, Tino Chrupalla, the co-leader of the party, stated last year that Postbank, a retail banking division of financial institution Deutsche Bank, had terminated his account because he’s an AfD member. He said this not only indicates how the AfD is “excluded and marginalised” from society but also that people are no longer permitted to express their opinions freely in Germany.

The dead-last finish marked a stinging defeat for Macron, who called for the snap runoff election the day after his party was defeated by NR in June’s parliamentary elections as a Hail Mary attempt to thwart the NR’s continued rise.

But the ascent of right-of-center party in a free and fair election proved too much for many Paris youths to bear, who directed their anger toward vandalizing their own city’s landmarks and businesses.

Much like the US, France has been beset by an overwhelming influx of migrants in recent years. Le Pen’s promise to crack down on illegal immigration as a major campaign platform has clearly resonated with a wide swath of the nation’s electorate.

Sunday’s voter turnout was up sharply over 2022’s tally, with 60% going to the polls compared to 39.4% last year.

French voters will return to the polls on July 7 for the second round, and if NR secures a majority in the country’s National Assembly, Macron will have to appoint a prime minister from the party, according to AP.

I assume Madam Le Pen herself will be the Prime Minister. I don’t know if she’s said.

What I do worry will happen is that Macron will end up having sex with her because he thinks she’s a tranny.

But the government is still the government, and the government pays people to riot against AfD. They also organize the intelligence apparatus against them, the normal cops, everything.

Fresh off the back of electoral wins that saw the populist party come in second in European elections—despite multiple scandals and near-constant state harassment—AfD top brass Alice Weidel and Tino Chrupalla will seek to renew their mandate at the head of the populist party against increasingly radical grassroots. Additional security protocols are being implemented to fend off “several tens of thousands” expected left-wing protestors.

Passive aggressive hostility against the AfD came from Essen city council, which has arranged for EU and LGBT flags to be flown around the congress location. The municipal authorities also aimed to temporarily rename the subway station adjacent to the venue location to ‘Diversity’, a move labelled “embarrassing” by online observers.

There are fears of violent attacks on AfD attendees as well as protests immobilising the city centre. Police are uncertain about the total number of protesters, but said at least 45,000 are expected at a protest meeting organised by the city of Essen, with speakers from the CDU and the German Evangelical Church. Antifa and other left-wing groups have said publicly that they want to use violence to stop the AfD congress.

Recent months have seen premeditated attacks on AfD activists and candidates, including an botched assassination attempt on one party candidate in the city of Mannheim earlier this month.

Despite being the second most popular party in Germany, the AfD had to secure a court order against city authorities in Essen in order to host the congress at a local exhibition centre. Local CDU mayor Thomas Kufen led efforts to cancel the event, claiming the populist party is in violation of the German constitution.

Well, I was hesitant about attempts to shut down what is probably the biggest party in Germany.

Then I found out Thomas Kufen supported it.

The Italian activist and newly elected MEP, Ilaria Salis, was accused of assaulting far-right protesters, facing a potential 20-year sentence. She will be freed under MEP immunity.

Italian activist Ilaria Salis is set to be released from detention in Hungary following her election as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP).

The 40-year-old teacher spent 15 months in prison after being accused of assaulting far-right demonstrators in Hungary. Salis, maintaining her innocence, was faced with the possibility of a 20-year prison sentence.

The case made headlines when she appeared in court handcuffed and chained. Following public outcry, Rome summoned the Hungarian ambassador and eventually secured her transfer to house arrest.

Salis has been elected with the Green and Left Alliance party and will be released as a result of her MEP immunity. She was arrested in Budapest last year, and suspected of involvement in alleged assaults during Hungary’s Day of Honor commemoration.

The event, held annually on February 11, sees far-right activists mark the failed attempt by Nazi and allied Hungarian soldiers to break out of Budapest during the Red Army’s siege in 1945.

Salis is accused of attempted murder for allegedly being part of a group of anti-fascists that attacked people they believed were associated with the far-right event.

Her appearances in court, chained with her hands and ankles cuffed, sparked outrage in Italy, although Budapest claimed it was standard procedure.

The police chief at the University of California, Los Angeles, has been reassigned following criticism over his handling of recent campus demonstrations that included a mob attacking a pro-Palestinian encampment.

Chief John Thomas was temporarily reassigned Tuesday “pending an examination of our security processes,” said Mary Osako, UCLA vice chancellor for strategic communications, in a statement released Wednesday.

The Daily Bruin reported late Tuesday that Thomas said in a text to the campus newspaper, “There’s been a lot going on and, I learned late yesterday that I’m temporarily reassigned from my duties as chief.”

Neither Osako nor Thomas identified his reassigned role.

The reassignment of Thomas follows UCLA’s May 5 announcement of the creation of a new chief safety officer position to oversee campus security operations.

On April 30, counterdemonstrators attacked a pro-Palestinian encampment, throwing traffic cones, releasing pepper spray and tearing down barriers.

Fighting continued for several hours before police stepped in, and no one was arrested.

They were not “counterdemonstrators,” they were Jewish terrorists.

This whole thing needs to be investigated.

The unrepentant founder of Greece’s neo-Nazi Golden Dawn, who insisted followers addressed him as the Fuhrer, has been released from prison four years into a sentence of 13 and a half years, having been convicted of operating a criminal organisation that posed as a political party.

Nikos Michaloliakos, a Holocaust denier and admirer of Adolf Hitler, was allowed to return to his home in Athens this week although his “conditional discharge” was only made public on Thursday.

The news sparked fury among members of the country’s anti-fascist movement. “It’s a scandalous decision,” said Petros Constantinou, the chief coordinator of the front, known as Keerfa. “It did not need to happen and will give the green light to fascists to regroup and continue attacks ahead of the European elections.”

He said operatives of the far-right, ultra-nationalist party still ran branches in Thessaloniki despite it being officially disbanded.

The party was banned because that’s what happens in a democracy

Michaloliakos, an anti-vaxxer who spent a large part of his imprisonment in a rehabilitation clinic after becoming seriously ill during the coronavirus pandemic, was sentenced at the end of a landmark trial to 13-and-a-half years in jail for crimes ranging from violent attacks on immigrants, to weapons offences and the murder of an anti-fascist musician.

Greek media reported his release application had been vigorously opposed by a state prosecutor. The magistrate had argued that despite meeting the criterion of serving three fifths of his jail term, once pre-trial detention was taken into account, the 67-year-old showed no remorse for his actions and should not be set free.

The discharge, agreed by a judicial council in the central town of Lamia, stipulated that Michaloliakos was banned from fraternising with other far-right activists and would have to present himself at a local police station once a month. He was also forbidden from leaving the greater Athens region of Attica.

The move came days after Greece’s supreme court banned another extremist party, the Spartans, from contesting next month’s European elections, arguing the organisation, which has 11 MPs, “aims at the weakening and demise of the democratic political system, particularly through the use of violence or incitement to violence”.

Several of its deputies face charges of electoral fraud, with the fate of the Spartans’ parliamentary group expected to be decided soon by a special court.

They just invent bizarre charges and ban right-wing groups. This has been going on for a decade, at the behest of the Germans.

There is no way to have a country with free elections and also be a part of the EU. German women will come in and start telling you what to do.

It was never the pro-Palestine protesters that were violent. Except for that Antifa infiltration at Columbia, and even then it was only violence against a building.

Mounting tensions on U.S. campuses boiled over on Wednesday when pro-Israel supporters attacked an encampment of pro-Palestinian protesters at UCLA, hours after police arrested activists who occupied a building at Columbia University and cleared a tent city from its campus.

Eyewitness videos from the University of California at Los Angeles, verified by Reuters, showed people wielding sticks or poles to hammer on wooden boards being used as makeshift barricades to protect the pro-Palestinian protesters before police were called to the campus.

The university canceled classes for the day on Wednesday, and UCLA Chancellor Gene Block said the school would conduct an investigation “that may lead to arrests, expulsions and dismissals.”

Neither the Los Angeles Police Department nor the university answered queries from Reuters asking whether any arrests were made at the confrontation, which began around 11 p.m. local time and went on for two or three hours.

Before the clashes in Los Angeles, UCLA officials declared that an encampment on its campus was unlawful, violated university policy and included people unaffiliated with the campus.

Afterwards, counter-demonstrators – many of them masked and some apparently older than most students – can be seen in videos throwing objects and trying to smash or pull down the wooden and steel barriers erected to shield the encampment.

Some screamed pro-Jewish comments as pro-Palestinian protesters tried to fight them off.

“The encampment would be a peaceful effort were it not for the continuous presence of counter-protesters and agitators,” he wrote in a text message.

So, the Germans are trying to put the opposition in prison for a reason even more retarded than the reasons Trump is facing prison.

Whenever there is a popular opposition that is pushing ideas against the actual rulers of democracy, they prosecute the opposition.

A leading far-right German politician has gone on trial, accused of using a Nazi slogan.

Björn Höcke, who leads the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in Thuringia, is being tried for saying the words “Everything for Germany!” at a 2021 rally.

The slogan is associated with the SA stormtroopers, who played a key role in the Nazis’ rise to power.

Mr Höcke – a former history teacher – denies knowing the phrase’s roots.

He faces up to three years’ imprisonment.

Prosecutors sought to try him for both incidents but the court in Halle decided to judge him only for the 2021 rally. A verdict is expected next month.

Articles in the German press have pointed to the recorded use of the slogan by several high-ranking Nazis, including Adolf Hitler’s deputy Rudolf Hess and the head of the Wehrmacht high command, Wilhelm Keitel.

Security services in Saxony-Anhalt are investigating a suspected arson attack that saw nearly all of a local Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) politician’s fleet of moving trucks torched, resulting in several hundred thousand euros in damage.

Local AfD politician Sven Elbert, the owner of the moving company Umzüge Ebert, who sits on the Schkopau municipal council and the Saale district council, was awakened on Monday night to find out that five of the six trucks in his Hohenweiden fleet had been destroyed, with another company car severely damaged, after catching fire, Junge Freiheit reports.

Per reports from German media, the flames and kilometer-high plumes of smoke that resulted from the ignited vehicles could be seen as far as 10 kilometers away in the city of Halle.

One employee of the company described the effects of the fire to reporters from the state broadcaster Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk as “devastating,” saying that “almost the entire company fleet had been destroyed.” Operations, he said, would continue with the support of rental vehicles.

Elbert’s moving company, which has eight branches throughout central Germany, has been the target of attacks in the past where assailants vandalized company property with buckets of paint. The attacks, suspected to have been committed by Antifa or groups affiliated with the extreme left, are believed to have targeted Elbert’s company due to his affiliation with the AfD.

Is it really the “extreme left”?

It seems a better term would be “state left.”

These are people with a drastic devotion to the government. That is “extreme,” but it’s not what we think of when we think of “far left activists.” These are not “ideological” people in the traditional sense, but rather very fragile people stirred up into a frenzy by the government/media.
