After the arrests of peaceful protesters, protesters are now rioting.

Breitbart claims these men are mostly Arabs, though it’s unclear how they would know that, given that they’re all wearing masks.

Riots broke out in Amsterdam on Monday evening as hordes of young men dressed in black set fires, threw rocks, and shot off makeshift missile fireworks, just days after a “Jew hunt” in the city following an Israeli soccer match.

Chaos continued in the Dutch capital on Monday as riots erupted in the borough of Nieuw-West. Videos on social media showed young men waving Palestine flags and others shouting, “Cancer Jews!”

Broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting reported that the youth rioters pelted cars and a bus with rocks and heavy fireworks. They also set fire to a tram in the area. During the violent outburst, chants of “Free Palestine” could be heard.

In a statement provided to De Telegraaf, Amsterdam police said: “A large group of people is causing a nuisance and throwing fireworks, among other things. This caused a tram to catch fire. The Mobile Unit is on-site to restore order.”

The riots come as the city remains on edge since horrific scenes following the Ajax—Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer match on Thursday, after which men on scooters conducted “hit and run” attacks on Israeli supporters, leaving over two dozen injured.

The attacks were reportedly premeditated and organised on pro-Palestininan group chats in Amsterdam. Taxi drivers are also said to have assisted in providing the locations of groups of Jewish soccer fans to be targeted.

Some on social media and elsewhere have sought to justify the “pogrom” attacks by pointing to footage purporting to show Maccabi supporters tearing down Palestinian flags on the previous night and chanting pro-war messages such as: “Let the IDF win. Fuck the Arabs!” and “Fuck you Palestine.”

Well, maybe they shouldn’t have done that?

People are already upset with the Jews, going around on a rampage doesn’t make things better.

Israel has a wall, and the international community needs to use it to keep Jews inside.

Around 50 people have been arrested after taking part in a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Amsterdam, defying a ban on protests in the city centre in the wake of last week’s attacks on supporters of Israeli football club Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Police used batons and riot shields to push back a crowd of more than 300 demonstrators that gathered in Dam Square on Sunday lunchtime, waving flags and chanting slogans such as “Free Palestine”. Protesters who ignored the order to leave the square were arrested.

Police drove a section of the crowd back into Nieuwendijk, a narrow shopping street in the corner of Dam Square, as they cleared the area. One woman suffered a head wound when she was knocked to the ground.

One witness, Patryk Kulpok, said an initial gathering of around 50 demonstrators was swelled by onlookers and passers-by who were drawn by the large police presence.

One of the organisers of the protest, Frank van der Linde, earlier in the day lost a court case against the city council’s decision to ban protests over the weekend, arguing that it was a breach of human rights. The court ruled the ban was legitimate to prevent the violence escalating.

It followed the unrest surrounding the Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv, when youths on scooters targeted and assaulted Israeli fans in what city mayor Femke Halsema described as “hit and run” attacks, co-ordinated via messaging apps.

Earlier in the day a group of Amsterdam taxi drivers had confronted Maccabi fans outside a casino after a taxi driver was assaulted in the street by visiting supporters.

On Sunday Amsterdam City Council extended the ban until 7am on Thursday. The emergency order also gives police wider stop and search powers and bans people from wearing face coverings.

Those Maccabi Jews were asking for it.

Israeli and Dutch political leaders have condemned violent attacks targeting Israeli football fans overnight, with right-wing politician Geert Wilders describing the incident as a “Jew hunt in the streets of Amsterdam”.

Fans of Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv football team who’d travelled to the Netherlands for a match against Ajax Amsterdam were attacked in the streets of the Dutch capital following the conclusion of the game.

Police stated that the supporters left the match without trouble, but that violence occurred once the crowds had dispersed.

Unverified social media footage appears to show crowds of men running through the streets and various people being beaten and intimidated.

Some videos show the football fans forced to say “Free Palestine” in order to avoid attack.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said in a post on X that he was “horrified” by the “antisemitic attacks on Israeli citizens”.

PVV politician Geert Wilders described the incident as a “pogrom” and criticised a lack of police protection following the match.

“A pogrom in the streets of #Amsterdam. We have become the Gaza of Europe. Muslims with Palestinian flags hunting down Jews. I will NOT accept that. NEVER. The authorities will be held accountable for their failure to protect the Israeli citizens. Never again,” Mr Wilders wrote on X.

As a result of the attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered two “rescue planes” to be sent to Amsterdam, while the country’s Foreign Ministry advised its citizens to remain in their hotel rooms.

US antisemitism envoy Deborah Lipstadt said that the scenes in Amsterdam were “terribly reminiscent of a classic pogrom”.

America might have to bomb Amsterdam.

In a rules based order, we cannot allow people to criticize Jews. It’s a direct attack on our values of who we are in a democracy.

If the Amsterdam government won’t silence these protesters, the US government is going to have to take charge and shut their filthy antisemite mouths.

A pro-Palestinian protest in the Dutch capital swelled on Tuesday, a day after riot police violently broke down an encampment at the Amsterdam University.

A crowd of several hundred chanted anti-Gaza war slogans, blocked downtown streets and denounced Israel’s ongoing military operations.

“Free, Free Palestine!”, protesters gathered around the university’s premises shouted. “The people united will never be defeated.”

Police used a bulldozer to knock down barricades early on Tuesday morning and detained 140 people in sometimes violent clashes, statements and videos of the protest showed.

Teachers and university employees angered by the police response called for another protest on Tuesday afternoon.

“Students and staff describe the use of pepper spray, police batons, police dogs and bulldozers to forcefully remove them. People were injured because of this excessive violence,” a group calling itself Dutch Scholars for Palestine said in a statement.

“We firmly and unequivocally insist upon the rights of students and scholars to engage in protest. We deplore the University of Amsterdam administration’s reliance on using violence instead of engaging in the students’ justified demands.”

Shutting down protests does appear to be against democracy, as its rule has been laid out, but it is also just logical that if you are a government you would shut down protesters who pose a threat to you. But in order for that logic to make sense, the government of Amsterdam has to be controlled by Jews, otherwise a protest against Israel would not be a threat to the government of Israel.

It certainly is not a valid explanation that these kids have to be silenced because it hurts the Jews’ feelings. Even if we follow with the extremist leftist logic of “feelings first,” Arabs are more victimized than the Jews and therefore it’s their feelings that should come first. Further, governments do not actually operate on that logic.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog, attending an opening of a Holocaust museum in Amsterdam on Sunday, called for prayers for peace and the immediate release of hostages taken by Hamas in its Oct. 7 attack and still held by the Islamist militants.

As he arrived at the Portuguese Synagogue to make a speech, Herzog was greeted with booing from pro-Palestinian protesters demanding an immediate end to Israel’s assault in Gaza.

Local health officials say nearly 31,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its offensive in response to the attack on southern Israel, in which some 1,200 people were killed and 253 taken hostage, with 134 still held, according to Israeli tallies.

Yeah, why doesn’t Amsterdam open a museum for the 31,000 dead Palestinians?

This is a massacre that actually happened, unlike the Holocaust, which the Jews continue to present any evidence for save for a pile of shoes.

“Hatred and anti-semitism are flourishing worldwide, and we must fight it together,” Herzog said in his speech.

At a square nearby, protesters were chanting “Ceasefire now” and “Stop bombing children”, while holding Palestinian flags and signs that said “Jews against genocide” and “The grandchild of a holocaust survivor says: Stop Gaza Holocaust”.

Some set off fireworks and threw eggs at police while a few tried to climb police vans as the protest grew more tense in the afternoon. Local media reported at least a thousand protesters attended.

Herzog’s remarks that not only militants but “an entire nation” was responsible for the Oct. 7 attack and that Israel will fight “until we break their backbone” have been cited by South Africa in its International Court of Justice lawsuit against Israel.

Those statements would be used by any legitimate genocide court.

A prominent member of a neo-Nazi group was sentenced to two months in prison for projecting an antisemitic conspiracy theory onto the Anne Frank House Museum, the Amsterdam building in which Frank and her family hid from Nazis during World War II.

Robert Wilson, a Polish-Canadian national, had been charged with insulting a group and inciting discrimination for casting the scrolling phrase “Ann [sic] Frank invented the ballpoint pen” onto the side of the museum in February with a laser projector mounted in his van.

Though the words seem innocuous, they are a reference to a nonsense conspiracy theory that the Jewish teen’s famous diary was a forgery.

The incident sparked immediate outrage through the Netherlands, with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte condemning what he called a “reprehensible” act.

Prominent Dutch journalist Peter R. de Vries has died after sustaining a fatal wound last week, RTL News reported on Thursday.

“Peter fought to the end, but was unable to win the battle. He died surrounded by the people who love him”, his relatives said in a joint statement, shared by the news outlet.

The crime journalist, who received much praise for his fearless reporting on the Dutch underworld, had been admitted to a hospital with grave injuries after being shot in the head last week. He was attacked after making one of his regular appearances on a television show.

Police have arrested a total of three suspects, including the potential shooter. There was no immediate word on a motive.

No word on the race either.

Though it’s not hard to suss it.

De Vries had long been deemed a possible target of the criminals he reported on. In 2019, the journalist said that he was “on the death list” of suspected organised crime boss Ridouan Taghi, who was extradited to the Netherlands from Dubai later that year. He is currently in a maximum-security prison in Vught, a town in the southern Netherlands, while he stands trial along with 16 other suspects. Taghi rejected the claims, insisting that the authorities and the judiciary system were “lying”.

The shooting was described as “shocking and incomprehensible” by caretaker Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

“An attack on a courageous journalist and also an attack on the free journalism that is so essential for our democracy, our constitutional state, our society”, Rutte added.

It’s quite a conundrum when journalists are the foundation of our democracy but diversity is our greatest strength and who we are.,

As I walked around the sun-dappled streets of Amsterdam, something felt strange in this world swept by fear and pandemic. There was laughter coming from barges sliding along the famous canals, clusters of cyclists clogged the streets, shoppers dipped into chic boutiques, the barber shops seemed busy and cafes served couples chatting over coffee.

I heard many voices of tourists in bars and restaurants, while even the seedier sides of this celebrated Dutch city had people strolling through them. It took me a moment to realise what was so weird. Then it struck me. It felt like I had stepped back in time, returning to the pre-pandemic normality of a bustling city filled with human beings whose faces were not covered by cloth.

For while 120 countries in the world, including much of Europe, have ordered citizens to wear masks in public places to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the Dutch are doing things differently.

The nation’s top scientists, having examined key data and research, have declared there is no firm evidence to back the use of face coverings. Indeed, they argue that wearing the wretched things may actually hamper the fight against disease.

‘Face masks in public places are not necessary, based on all the current evidence,’ said Coen Berends, spokesman for the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. ‘There is no benefit and there may even be negative impact.’

This is a bold but highly controversial stance – especially as fears grow of a second wave sweeping through Europe. Last week, Downing Street joined the global stampede to enforce face masks in public spaces such as shops, supermarkets and stations, following Scotland, Spain and France, along with Holland’s neighbouring nations of Belgium and Germany.

‘We think masks have a great deal of value,’ said Boris Johnson. ‘Scientific evaluation of face coverings and their importance in stopping aerosol droplets has been growing. People should wear them in shops.’

But the Dutch disagree – to the delight of all the citizens I spoke with in Amsterdam. ‘I hate wearing them,’ said Aicha Meziati, 29, in the hip fashion store Das Werk Haus. ‘They are horrible. People look like they have nappies on their faces.’

Margriet, a 24-year-old sales assistant in a pop-up drink shop, said it was hard to read people’s facial expressions when they wore masks. ‘You make contact with people better without them and it is easier to talk to them in the store.’

Holland’s position is based on assessments by the Outbreak Management Team, a group of experts advising the government. It first ruled against masks in May and has re-evaluated the evidence several times, including again last week.

It believes they detract from a clear three-pronged message that has kept deaths from coronavirus down to less than half the rate in Britain: wash hands regularly, maintain social distancing of 1.5 metres and stay at home if suffering any symptoms.

The one exception outside of the medical frontline has been on public transport, where masks are mandatory on the basis it is difficult to stay apart on crowded buses, ferries and trains. ‘We have seen this approach works,’ said Christian Hoebe, a professor of infectious diseases in Maastricht and member of the advisory team. ‘Face masks should not be seen as a magic bullet that halts the spread.

‘The evidence for them is contradictory. In general, we think you must be careful with face masks because they can give a false sense of security. People think they’re immune from disease or stop social distancing. That is very negative.’

Hoebe, head of infectious disease control in Zuid-Limburg, the region hit hardest when the pandemic struck Holland, pointed to a Norwegian study showing 200,000 people must wear surgical masks for one week to stop a single Covid-19 case.

Yet few people have medical masks – in Britain they are rightly preserved for the NHS – while wearers routinely misuse or contaminate their coverings by fitting them incorrectly, failing to change them and touching their faces.

NOTE: they’re talking about surgical masks! Not the homemade cloth stuff that people are forced to wear in most other places.

We can assume the non-surgical ones are far less effective, because otherwise what would be the point of surgical masks being a thing if you can get the same level of protection through some random piece of cloth?

‘I was in Belgium recently and saw many people putting them beneath their noses, upside down or under chins’, says Hoebe. ‘Others stuffed them in their pockets. The effectiveness also depends on the right fabric and the mask being worn very close to the nose.’

Studies by one membrane specialist at Eindhoven University found that while the coronavirus particles are caught by an electrostatic layer in medical masks, they can penetrate bigger pores found in cotton and even vacuum cleaner bags.

The World Health Organisation has also been sceptical, warning that ‘widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high-quality or direct scientific evidence’.

Although changing its advice in June to back the encouragement of mask wearing in some settings, the WHO lists 11 ‘potential harms’ that range from discomfort through to self-contamination and lower compliance with more critical preventative measures.

As in some other European countries, Holland has seen an alarming recent rise in reported infections, which have almost doubled to 1,329 cases over the past two weeks, combined with marginally higher rates of hospitalisation and fatality.

Yet the cabinet’s advisory team says this was driven by clusters of people infecting each other at family gatherings and parties, where they would not have worn masks regardless of any changes to rules about public spaces.

Although two recent polls claim a majority backing use of face masks for indoor public spaces, I found people on Amsterdam’s busy shopping streets supported their government’s stand and seemed very aware of the simple rules.

‘I like it when people can decide for themselves,’ said Jesus Garcia, wielding the clippers in Barbershop Jordaan filled with mask-free staff and customers. ‘You would have to really educate people how to use them properly for safety.’

He said he had worn masks during a trip to Spain. ‘I did not feel it was really helping since people were wearing them all wrong, putting them in their pockets, placing them under their noses. It defeats the purpose.’ One customer having a trim agreed. ‘I find face masks absolutely awful. They’re claustrophobic and don’t work,’ said Mark Casey, corporate finance partner at a major accountancy firm.

Yes, we all like it when people can decide for themselves.

Sure, these migrants live in the Netherlands.

But that doesn’t mean they have to tolerate the sight of Dutch people doing Dutch things.

A disturbing video clip that shows a pair of migrants kicking an elderly Dutchman off of his bicycle as they ride by on their motorbike has sparked widespread outrage on social media.

The cowardly crime took place last Sunday in IJdoornlaan in the north Amsterdam metropolitan area. The video footage depicts the two migrants coming from behind the unsuspecting elderly man as he rides his bicycle along the path before they kick him off, sending him plummeting to the pavement, local Amsterdam television station AT5 reports.

While speeding off on their motorbike, the two laugh hysterically and turn the video camera around so as to capture the old man’s awful fall.

According to Algemeen Dagblad, one of the perpetrators has been identified as Rody Breinburg. He has since turned himself in to police after the video went viral.
