It is a part of history that Nintendo beat Sega.

Soon, Denny’s will fall and Waffle House will stand as the ultimate restaurant.

Parade:

Denny’s is gearing up to close nearly 150 stores nationwide as part of its new growth strategy. According to Restaurant Business, the 71-year-old breakfast chain recently held an investors conference in which management identified the weakest one-fifth of the retail system as being responsible for “dragging down the healthier performers.” This crop of stores will be given a grant offer and loan accessibility in order to improve the brand’s overall consistency.

Of the 150 stores identified as weak financial performers, nearly half will be completely shut down by the end of this year, with the other half shutting down for good later in 2025. Denny’s CEO Kelli Valade told investors, “We believe this is absolutely the right thing to do to make our system stronger.”

Valade’s comments come after the franchisor reported a 0.1-percent decrease in same-store sales from the Denny’s brand in this year’s third quarter alone. She also noted that the closures were necessary to reach HQ’s goals of raising the annual average store volume to $2.2 million and slapping a fresh face on the Denny’s brand. This all comes at a time where the brand has experienced significant loss in traffic across the board, resulting in a 20-percent decrease in sales. “Everyone has lost traffic. Everyone,” Valade told investors.

Denny’s chief development officer, Steve Dunn, gives the weakest performing one-fifth of the chain credit as hurting the rest of the system due to old and outdated stores and markets whose dynamic customer base had unfortunately changed. Dunn essentially quoted the company as “pruning those stores for the benefit of the survivors.”

The battle is real.

Waffle House is much better in every way, including being much better to look at with your eyes.

The food is a million times better, and it also has only booths and a bar, like a proper diner.

Denny’s is a stain on the soul of this great nation.

Who knows what kinds of people were going to Denny’s. I would assume it was a hotspot for homosexual pedophiles and terrorists, but I do not have any experience with Denny’s personally.

There can only be one.

SNL Sketch About Frank Sinatra Captures What I’m Trying to Say Here https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/11/22/snl-sketch-about-frank-sinatra-captures-what-im-trying-to-say-here/ Wed, 22 Nov 2023 00:00:00 +0000

I’m now obsessed with Frank Sinatra as a symbol of Americana, even though he was Italian.

I found this Saturday Night Live sketch that is a parody of the McLaughlin Group with Sinatra hosting a TV show about music. Sinatra is played by the late, great Phil Hartman.

This video somehow manages to capture all of the various things about Sinatra that lead me to view him as a positive symbol of Americana: smoking, drinking, racism, sexism, anti-homosexuality, cherishing accomplishment and achievement. It’s exactly as it should be, exactly as America should be.

You know, I love Guys and Dolls with Frankie and Marlon Brando. But Brando, this guy called out the Jews on Larry King Live, then he went and groveled to rabbis.

This nigga literally cried.

Frankie never cried to anyone.

Frankie kept it real.

Roast of Frank Sinatra (1978) https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/11/21/roast-of-frank-sinatra-1978/ Tue, 21 Nov 2023 00:00:00 +0000

In some sense, America died with Frank Sinatra.

In the above video, a roast of Frank Sinatra in 1978 is hosted by Dean Martin. It’s everything I think about when I think about “classic Americana.” It’s white men in suits, drinking and smoking.

There are Jews and black people there too. Everyone is getting along. Everyone is happy. These are all very accomplished people, who worked hard.

Of course, these are entertainment men, which is why we recognize them and why there are videos of them from 1978 saved on YouTube. But this is representative of the whole country: accomplished white men who take life seriously, but also smoke and drink and joke around and are sexists and racists.

Ironically, Ronald Reagan was at the event, and he represents the dawn of the modern era, where people stopped caring about living life to its fullest and started thinking purely in material, utilitarian terms. It is utilitarianism, the maximizing of efficiency, which led to the soulless modern situation.

The boomers stripped the fun out of everything, they stripped the meaning out of everything, they turned America into a big money factory.

You see something like this, and then you look around at America today, and you can’t help but ask: “what is left? What remains of that old America, other than the idea of it?”

Probably, nothing much remains other than the idea. But the idea should in fact be enough. If we have the idea, we can rebuild.

We can make America again a nation of honorable, accomplished men, who are sexists and smoke and drink and do important things in the arts, in politics, in industry, in everything else.

We should be hopeful.

Frankie and Dean and the rest of those wops were hopeful. And by the 1970s, they had helped to build a pretty good vibe for America. That’s what entertainers do, isn’t it? They create vibes.

I dig that vibe, and America dug that vibe.

Don Rickles and George Burns were Jew perverts, but they weren’t hurting anything. Maybe they slimed things up a bit, but you need a bit of slime, don’t you?

These vibes today, I do not dig.

I don’t know where I’m going with this. I had something to say, but I forget what it was.

I wish the recording was better quality. This video warms the heart, and should give us hope.

Cruise Ship Labeled “Monstrosity” (I’m Gonna Have to Take the Counter Position Here) https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/07/15/cruise-ship-labeled-monstrosity-im-gonna-have-to-take-the-counter-position-here/ Sat, 15 Jul 2023 00:00:00 +0000

I’ve previously attacked cruise ships as the peak of American decadence and depravity of the human soul.

Now, New York Post is taking this same position on a new beast:

The world’s largest cruise ship, which is set to launch in January, has been labeled a “monstrosity,” with critics comparing it to having the same buzz as the Titanic did on its maiden voyage.

Known as Icon of the Seas under Royal Caribbean International, this new ship is five times larger than the Titanic with an internal volume of 250,800 gigatonnes (GT) compared to 46,328 GT.

Online critics have been quick to point out how the ship, over-the-top in nature, doesn’t mean bigger is better.

“As visions of hell go, that’s pretty much the most hellish,” one person tweeted in response to a photo of the new cruise ship, while another said, “I’m sorry but this is a nightmare.”

“Every time I see a picture of the Icon of the Seas cruise ship I am filled with an intense dread,” another wrote.

“For a second I was like ‘No, the Icon of the Seas is not real, it can’t hurt you because some wacky giant cruise ship seasteading scheme goes viral every 10 months.’ But I looked it up and it turns out they actually built this one,” another person tweeted.

For the company, however, this takes travel to a new level.

“We are positioning it as the ultimate family vacation and when you step back and look at all the energy and time that has gone into creating this ship it is mind-blowing,” Royal Caribbean International president and chief executive Michael Bayley said in a statement.

I’m going to have to take the opposite position here, purely for the sake of being contrarian.

This looks like a blast to me.

It’s like the vacation equivalent of a Katy Perry song, no?

I mean – what’s not to like?

Of course faggots are going to complain about people trying to have fun.

Whiny people are a buzzkill.

Don’t let them spoil your good time.

You only live once, and you might as well live it up.

(Seriously though: don’t go on this boat. If you don’t want to deal with the blacks in Italy, Greece, or Spain, just go to Mexico or Thailand or something. Frankly, Cuba is a great option if you can get there legally. If I was going to really keep it real, I would tell you to go to the Grand Canyon or Vermont.)

But seriously: what happened to the plan for a libertarian sea-steading project where you can manufacture cocaine and shoot RPGs at each other while your child bride waves your swastika flag?
