Israeli forces raided the office of Al Jazeera in the occupied West Bank on Sunday and issued a 45-day closure order, the Qatari broadcaster said, with footage showing heavily armed and masked troops entering the premises in Ramallah.

“There is a court ruling for closing down Al Jazeera for 45 days,” an Israeli soldier told Al Jazeera’s West Bank bureau chief, Walid al-Omari, the network reported, citing the conversation which was broadcast live. “I ask you to take all the cameras and leave the office at this moment,” the soldier said.

Al-Omari reported that Israeli troops brought a truck to confiscate documents, devices and office property.

The broadcaster said the soldiers did not provide a reason for the closure order.

Al Jazeera denounced the raid as “a criminal act” and said in a statement it held the Israeli government responsible for the safety of its journalists.

The network added that it would take legal action to protect its rights and promised to continue its coverage. “Al Jazeera rejects the draconian actions, and the unfounded allegations presented by Israeli authorities to justify these illegal raids,” it said.

This is honestly very similar to what happened to the Daily Stormer.

Three hostages rescued during a deadly Israeli military operation on the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza were held captive by a journalist, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) alleged Sunday, without providing evidence to support their claim.

In a statement, the IDF claimed freed hostages Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv were held by journalist Abdallah Aljamal and his family members at their home in the central Gaza camp.

Aljamal was killed in the IDF operation along with his wife and father, according to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor chairman Ramy Abdu, citing initial testimony gathered by the group documenting the IDF’s alleged killings in the Nuseirat camp on Saturday.

Aljamal lived on the first floor of a multi-story building, according to Euro-Med. The IDF said the hostages were found on the third floor.

The IDF statement claimed Aljamal was a Hamas operative and a journalist for Al Jazeera.

The allegations come a month after Israel expelled the Qatar-based network from the country under a new wartime law that allows the Israeli government to ban foreign media it deems harmful to its security.

In a statement Sunday, Al Jazeera called Israel’s allegations “completely unfounded” and “a continuation of the process of slander and misinformation aimed at harming Al Jazeera’s reputation, professionalism, and independence.”

Aljamal never worked for the network but had once contributed to an opinion piece published on its website, Al Jazeera said.

Al Jazeera’s website credits Aljamal as the author of an op-ed published in 2019. His biography page on the site describes him as a “Gaza-based reporter and photojournalist.”

Aljamal was a freelance contributor to The Palestine Chronicle, according to the US-based online outlet. The Chronicle said it was saddened by Aljamal’s death, noting his reports “have focused entirely on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.”

Meanwhile, an X account linked to Israel’s Foreign Ministry claimed Aljamal was a spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Labor, citing unnamed sources in Gaza.

Without providing evidence, the Israeli X account also claimed that Argamani was held in Aljamal’s home, before later saying the three men were held captive there.

Let’s give a round of applause to the Jews for not killing these journalists, and simply seizing their equipment.

Israeli officials have seized a camera and broadcasting equipment belonging to the Associated Press in southern Israel, in the latest moves against media covering the Gaza war.

Officials accused the US-based wire service, which has subscribers around the globe, of violating a new media law by providing images to Al Jazeera.

The Qatari satellite channel, which is among thousands of clients that receive live video feeds from the AP, was forced to close its offices in Israel on 5 May after a government vote to use new laws to close the satellite news network’s operations in the country.

Officials from the communications ministry arrived at the AP location in the southern Israeli border town of Sderot on Tuesday afternoon and seized the equipment, handing the news agency a piece of paper, signed by the communications minister, Shlomo Karhi, a member of Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, alleging it was violating the country’s foreign broadcaster law.

“The Associated Press decries in the strongest terms the actions of the Israeli government to shut down our longstanding live feed showing a view into Gaza and seize AP equipment,” said Lauren Easton, the vice-president of corporate communications at the news organisation.

“The shutdown was not based on the content of the feed but rather an abusive use by the Israeli government of the country’s new foreign broadcaster law.

“We urge the Israeli authorities to return our equipment and enable us to reinstate our live feed immediately so we can continue to provide this important visual journalism to thousands of media outlets around the world.”

Before the equipment was seized, it was broadcasting a general view of northern Gaza. AP complies with Israel’s military censorship rules, which prohibit broadcasts of details such as troops movements that could endanger soldiers. The live shot has generally shown smoke rising over the territory.

The seizure followed a verbal order on Thursday to cease the live transmission – which the news organisation refused to do.

“In accordance with the government decision and the instruction of the communications minister, the communications ministry will continue to take whatever enforcement action is required to limit broadcasts that harm the security of the state,” the ministry said in a statement.

It harms the security of the state.

And the state is Jews.

Israeli authorities raided a Jerusalem hotel room used by Al Jazeera as its office after the government decided to shut down the Qatari-owned TV station’s local operations on Sunday, an Israeli official and an Al Jazeera source told Reuters.

Video circulated online showed plainclothes officers dismantling camera equipment in a hotel room, which the Al Jazeera source said was in East Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet shut down the network for as long as the war in Gaza continues, saying it threatened national security.

Al Jazeera said the move was a “criminal action” and the accusation that the network threatened Israeli security was a “dangerous and ridiculous lie” that put its journalists at risk.

It reserved the right to “pursue every legal step”.

The network has criticised Israel’s military operation in Gaza, from where it has reported throughout the war.

“The incitement channel Al Jazeera will be closed in Israel,” Netanyahu posted on social media following a unanimous cabinet vote.

A government statement said Israel’s communications minister signed orders to “act immediately”, but at least one lawmaker who supported the closure said Al Jazeera could still try to block it in court.

The measure, the statement said, includes closing Al Jazeera’s offices in Israel, confiscating broadcast equipment, cutting off the channel from cable and satellite companies and blocking its websites. It did not mention Al Jazeera’s Gaza operations.

I’m not going to do the “not a democracy” thing.

It is a democracy. Israel is definitely a democracy. They say “it’s the only democracy in the Middle East” – it’s more likely the only democracy in the world.

“Democracy” in practice means “our values,” which means various different things to different people. Tucker Carlson will say a democracy has to have free speech. Most people say a democracy has to have gay anal. In Israel, democracy means “the popular will expressed through voting.” Israel is not liberal and it is not pluralistic, but in terms of “people voting for things and then the government doing the things people vote for,” Israel is really the only country where that happens.

I guess you could say Russia or other countries that are called “dictatorships” are actually functional “democracies” in terms of people voting for things.

Anyway – “democracy” is a meaningless term. It’s probably better to just say “Israel is a country where people vote for things and then the government does those things.”

According to the second and third final readings of the legislation, if the prime minister is convinced that a foreign TV channel is harmful to the country, the communications ministry can take action against it after receiving at least a safety opinion and majority government approval.

In this case, the communications minister can issue orders to close the channel’s offices in Israel, confiscate broadcasting equipment, prevent the channel from broadcasting its reports, remove the channel from cable and satellite companies, and block its website and media sites, among other things.

“We have put in place an effective and swift means of taking action against those who use freedom of the press to harm Israel’s security,” read a statement by Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi.

An Israeli tank crew killed a Reuters reporter in Lebanon in October by firing two shells at a clearly identified group of journalists and then “likely” opened fire on them with a heavy machine gun in an attack that lasted 1 minute and 45 seconds, according to a report into the incident published on Thursday.

I just can’t believe the Jews would do something like this.

The report by the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) – which was contracted by Reuters to analyse evidence from the Oct. 13 attack that killed visuals journalist Issam Abdallah – found that a tank 1.34 km away in Israel fired two 120 mm rounds at the reporters.

A Reuters investigation in December covered TNO’s preliminary finding that a tank in Israel had fired at the journalists. In its final report on Thursday, the institute revealed that audio picked up by an Al Jazeera video camera at the scene showed the reporters also came under fire from 0.50 calibre rounds of the type used by the Browning machine guns that can be mounted on Israel’s Merkava tanks.

“It is considered a likely scenario that a Merkava tank, after firing two tank rounds, also used its machine gun against the location of the journalists,” TNO’s report said. “The latter cannot be concluded with certainty as the direction and exact distance of (the machine gun) fire could not be established.”

Reuters could not independently determine if the Israeli tank crew knew it was firing on journalists, nor whether it also shot at them with a machine gun and, if so, why.

Neither of the two surviving Reuters reporters or another AFP journalist at the scene remembered the machine gun fire. All said they were in shock at the time.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was working on a response to questions from Reuters about the incident. Asked to comment on TNO’s preliminary findings in December, the IDF said: “We don’t target journalists.” A day after the Reuters investigation was published, it said the incident took place in an active combat zone.

International humanitarian law bars attacks on journalists as those in the news media have the full scope of protection granted to civilians and cannot be considered military targets.

“We condemn, in the strongest terms, the attack on a clearly identifiable group of journalists, working in the open. The attack killed our colleague Issam Abdallah and injured several others. We reiterate our calls on Israel to explain how this could have happened and to hold those responsible to account,” Reuters Editor-in-Chief Alessandra Galloni said.

AFP Global News Director Phil Chetwynd reiterated his call for a thorough and transparent investigation by the Israeli military.

“If reports of sustained machine gun fire are confirmed, this would add more weight to the theory this was a targeted and deliberate attack,” he said.

Ihtisham Hibatullah, Al Jazeera’s manager of international communications, urged the Israeli government to disclose the findings of its own investigation.

“This incident strongly indicates intentional targeting, as confirmed by investigations, including by TNO,” he said.

Reuters photographer Thaier Al-Sudani, 47 cameraman Maher Nazeh, 53, as well as two journalists from Al Jazeera and another from AFP were also wounded in the attack.

Al Jazeera is preparing a legal file to send to the international criminal court (ICC) over what it called “the assassination” of one of its cameramen in Gaza, the Qatari-based network has said.

The cameraman, Samer Abu Daqqa, was killed by a drone strike on Friday while reporting on the earlier bombing of a school used as a shelter for displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the Qatar-based broadcaster.

Al Jazeera said Israeli drones fired missiles at the school that left Abu Daqqa with fatal injuries. It was not possible to verify the details of the incident.

“The Network established a joint working group, which comprises of its international legal team and international legal experts who will collaboratively initiate the process of compiling a comprehensive file for submission to the court’s prosecutor,” Al Jazeera said in a statement on Saturday.

“The legal file will also encompass recurrent attacks on the Network’s crews working and operating in the occupied Palestinian territories and instances of incitement against them.”

An Israeli tank crew also killed Reuters visuals journalist Issam Abdallah and wounded six other reporters in Lebanon on 13 October by firing two shells in quick succession from Israel while the journalists were filming cross-border shelling, a Reuters investigation found.

The other thing is: being a journalist in Gaza is like being a soldier.

You are risking your life for what you believe in, which is why it is only Moslem journalists.

So, it’s not like he didn’t know. It’s not like when all those journalists were dying at the beginning of the Ukraine war and they were like “wtf, the American democracy ally is assassinating our dudes, why???”

It’s unfortunate this guy died, like all murder is unfortunate, but he signed up knowing the risks, knowing Israel has always targeted journalists for assassination.

It’s different than the deaths of the local babies, who didn’t ever sign up for this.

The U.S. and EU led an international outcry Saturday after Israeli police charged the funeral procession in Jerusalem of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and beat pallbearers who almost dropped her coffin.

Thousands of people packed Jerusalem’s Old City on Friday for the burial of the veteran Al Jazeera journalist, two days after she was killed in an Israeli army raid in the occupied West Bank.

Television footage showed the pallbearers struggling to stop Abu Akleh’s coffin from falling to the ground as baton-wielding police officers charged towards them, grabbing Palestinian flags from mourners.

The United States said it was “deeply troubled” by the scenes, while the European Union said it was “appalled” by the “unnecessary force.”

The Jerusalem Red Crescent said 33 people were injured, of whom six were hospitalized. Israeli authorities said six arrests were made after mourners had thrown “rocks and glass bottles.”

You gotta really beat someone hard with a bat for them to end up in the hospital from it. Definitely takes more than a couple good body blows. You’ve either gotta crack a skull, or beat the guts to the point of internal bleeding – or bash a very old person.

Also, though there is significant footage of the police attacking the funeral, there is no footage of the mourners throwing rocks or bottles. It is believed that this is a result of anti-Semitism – the people filming turned off their cameras during the rock and bottle throwing by people in the funeral procession, then turned the cameras on when the Jewish cops defended themselves.

Israel and the Palestinians traded blame for the death of Abu Akleh on Wednesday who was shot in the head during the Israeli army raid on the Jenin refugee camp.

The Israeli army said an interim investigation could not determine who fired the fatal bullet, noting stray Palestinian gunfire or Israeli sniper fire aimed at militants were both possible causes.

But the Palestinian prosecutor’s office in the West Bank city of Ramallah said later the initial results of an investigation showed “the only origin of the shooting was the Israeli occupation forces.”

Al Jazeera has said Israel killed her “deliberately” and “in cold blood.”

In a rare, unanimous statement, the U.N. Security Council condemned the killing and called for “an immediate, thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation,” according to diplomats.

Two more Catholic churches burned down in indigenous communities in western Canada early on Saturday.

The fires at St Ann’s Church and the Chopaka Church began within an hour of each other in British Columbia.

Officers said both buildings were completely destroyed, and they were treating the fires as “suspicious”.

Last Monday two other Catholic churches in the province were destroyed in fires, as Canada marked National Indigenous People’s Day.

This could possibly be the funniest thing ever.

The only reason that the AP has offices in Palestine is to shill for Israel. But Israel goes ahead and bombs them, presumably because they just weren’t shilling hard enough.

This is obviously intended to be a message to all journalists worldwide: shill harder.

An Israeli airstrike on Saturday destroyed a high-rise building that housed The Associated Press office in the Gaza Strip, despite repeated urgent calls from the news agency to the military to halt the impending attack. AP called the strike “shocking and horrifying.”

Twelve AP staffers and freelancers were working and resting in the bureau on Saturday afternoon when the Israeli military telephoned a warning, giving occupants of the building one hour to evacuate. Everyone was able to get out, grabbing a few belongings, before three heavy missiles struck the 12-story building, collapsing it into a giant cloud of dust.

Although no one was hurt, the airstrike demolished an office that was like a second home for AP journalists and marked a new chapter in the already rocky relationship between the Israeli military and the international media. Press-freedom groups condemned the attack. They accused the military, which claimed the building housed Hamas military intelligence, of trying to censor coverage of Israel’s relentless offensive against Hamas militants.

Ahead of the demolition, the AP placed urgent calls to the Israeli military, foreign minister and prime minister’s office but were either ignored or told that there was nothing to be done.

For 15 years, the AP’s top-floor office and roof terrace were a prime location for covering Israel’s conflicts with Gaza’s Hamas rulers, including wars in 2009, 2012 and 2014. The news agency’s camera offered 24-hour live shots as militants’ rockets arched toward Israel and Israeli airstrikes hammered the city and its surrounding area this week.

I guess he thought there might be terror-babies in it.

Israel has a right to protect itself against terror-babies.

What Now, Media?

We all watched as the media went completely ape over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a member of the Moslem Brotherhood who had written columns in English for the Washington Post. Khashoggi was killed by Saudi Prince Muhammed bin Salmon. Salmon is an ally of Israel, and thus general off-limits, but the media went after him anyway. That might have mainly been about attacking Donald Trump – we will never know. We do know that Joe Biden said he would not do anything to punish Saudi for killing this guy (chopping him up), and the media kind of complained and then gave up.

What I’m certain we learned in the Khashoggi Saga is that journalists are sacred people – as long as they are not Julian Assange.

I think it’s safe to say that even though no one died, actually blowing up a press building is more extreme than assassinating a single journalist – especially given that Khashoggi, as a member (or at least de facto member) of the Moslem Brotherhood, could be framed as an enemy combatant in a larger conflict that’s bigger than his role as a journalist.

Just outright blowing up an Associated Press office is the single biggest attack on journalists, by anyone, in my lifetime. This is certainly much more extreme than vague claims that Vladimir Putin is “killing journalists.”

The question is: is there going to be any pushback on Israel for doing this, at all? Beyond the initial complaints, the statements that “this is bad” are the journalists actually going to press the issue? Is Freedom House going to take this to the United Nations?

No. No, I don’t think Freedom House will be pressing the issue very far.

But even if the watchdog groups aren’t interested in watch-dogging, someone is going to have to complain about this war crime, right?

What about the journalists themselves? Surely, top print outlet New York Times and top TV station CNN will come out really aggressively against bombing journalists?

No.

No, I suppose they won’t.

I don’t even expect that they will start covering the massive anti-Israel protests that are taking place in every major city.

What an incredible thing, the way these Jews have just taken over everything, then pushed this really extreme “brown people are always right and are above everyone else” agenda, then started slaughtering brown people and leveling their cities and getting away with it.

The bottom line on this AP bombing is this: if they can kill brown people and get away with it, they can just pretty much do anything – and that includes using bombs to silence journalists.

This modern system exalts mainstream journalists, sure. But not as much as it exalts brown people.

What the bombing of this AP building, and the bombing of Palestine in general should do is show people that the entire “left vs. right” dichotomy is fake. The entire story of the 21st century is actually “Jews vs. Non-Jews.”

Look at it:

  • The right does nothing to stop the tranny agenda. Governors in red states are vetoing bills to stop the trannies.
  • The right does nothing to stop the black agenda. Brian Kemp just abolished citizens’ arrest.
  • The left does nothing to stop the bombing of Palestine.
  • The left does nothing to defend journalists getting bombed.

I’m not a leftist, I’m not generally pro-Moslem or pro-Brown People in general, but I’ll tell you: there is no conceivable way to justify Israel slaughtering all these children, leveling everyone’s house, and just basically genociding people who they’ve locked in an open-air prison (Gaza).

I don’t care how much you hate Moslems – this kind of asymmetry in war cannot possibly be justified. The Palestinians have literally no ability to defend themselves, and they’re just getting slaughtered by these bombs.

And of course, as we know, the neither the Republican nor Democrat establishment consistently hates Moslems, given that they advocate for war with China to save the “human rights” of Moslems.

Do you know what China is accused of doing? They’re accused of sending Moslem terrorists to reeducation camps and making them sing songs about Emperor Xi.

Which would you rather have happen to you: have your entire city leveled by bombs and your children blown to bits, or be forced to sing a song?

Furthermore: I also think journalists should be treated like Red Cross. I don’t care if that is a leftist talking point, it’s correct: journalists should always be protected in war zones. You have to have that rule, or there is no way to know what is going on in a war.

But of course: it isn’t really a leftist agenda. It might be a leftist talking point, but as we see here, they won’t ever do anything to actually protect journalists, and when journalists get bombed all they do is say “this is not good.”
