Migrants from Afghanistan and Syria have been charged in the ruthless beating of a Swedish teen that was captured on video and spread virally in May, according to local media.

In the shocking footage, the victim is held in a choke-hold while his assailants kick and strike him, all while one films the attack.

Eventually the victim is ushered into his vehicle, where one of his tormentors then kicks him in the face as he sits in the driver’s seat.

“Two foreign nationals are now being prosecuted for the abuse,” Fria Tider reports, noting that both are 16-years-old.

“One is a citizen of Afghanistan and needs an interpreter in Farsi. The other is a citizen of Syria. The immigrants, together and in collusion, struck and kicked the victim in the head and body and choked him, according to the indictment.”

The Syrian reportedly faces additional charges for issuing criminal threats to passengers inside the vehicle.

Seven Afghan migrants and one Swedish citizen have been arrested in two separate operations in connection with a case of rape, with one suspect being involved with a migrant integration charity.

The first round of arrests occurred in the middle of May, and were followed in June with several more suspects. All of the suspects are between 20 to 26 years old with most of the suspects residing in Östersund, Sweden, Nyheter Idag reports.

The rape attack or attacks are said to have occurred between the 3rd and 8th of May but police have not shared the full and specific details in the case.

Several details regarding the suspects have come to light, such as one of the men having been convicted twice for assault in 2014 and 2015, while another is said to have worked at the asylum seeker integration charity Hej främling! (“Hi stranger!”) which fired him upon being notified of his arrest.

The charity, which describes itself as bringing together Swedes and asylum seekers for various sporting and outdoor activities to help integrate new arrivals, released a statement on the arrest of the former worker saying: “We have zero tolerance with regard to crime, so we are serious about this.”

Maria Svensson Wiklander, chairman of the group, said they knew the former volunteer had been convicted of a crime before his current arrest, but argued: “Everyone is worth the chance. It is also something we assume in our business, that one should have a second chance to get out of crime and abuse.”

A shock video out of Germany shows a migrant smashing a bottle over another young man’s head while saying, “This is for Afghanistan.”

It is not known where the incident took place, but the video began circulating on social media earlier today.

The young migrant is seen talking in German on camera while holding the bottle in his hand.

He then states, “This is for Afghanistan” before smashing the bottle over the head of a white German man, who then screams out in pain as he lay bleeding on the street.

According to the German government’s own statistics, violent crime in Germany rose by 10 per cent between 2015 and 2016, when the country began accepting large numbers of migrants, many of them young men. More than 90 per cent of the rise was attributable to young male “refugees”.

Experts say he’s 22, but it isn’t like he would lie about that.

German prosecutors have charged an Afghan migrant with the murder and rape of a 19-year-old medical student in Freiburg. The suspect already served a prison term for a similar offense in Greece but was released early.

Officials in the southwestern German city of Freiburg, home of one of Germany’s elite universities where the incident had taken place, announced the charges on Thursday.

The prosecution team accused the suspect known as Hussein K. of having “attacked, strangled and raped” Maria Ladenburger, a 19-year-old medical student who disappeared while on her way home from a party on October 16, 2016.

The prosecutors claim he then dumped her in the nearby Dreisam River. Her body was found on the river bank the next morning by locals.

The prosecution’s charge described Hussein K. as having killed Maria “insidiously and for sexual satisfaction,” DPA news agency reported. Hussein K. was linked to the crime through DNA evidence — authorities used a strand of hair found in the bushes near the girl’s body to identify and arrest him.

Hussein K. had arrived in Germany from Afghanistan as an unaccompanied asylum-seeker in 2015, with no identity papers, and had been living with a Germany foster family since. At the time of his arrest, he told police he was 17 years old. However, two studies by medical age experts suggest the suspect was at least 22 at the time of the crime.

Due to the uncertainty under German law, Hussein K. will be tried as a juvenile instead of adult law. His case will be heard by the juvenile chamber of the Freiburg district court. If convicted of murder, he could be handed a10 year jail term, DPA reports.

The case sparked public outcry after journalist and author Oliver Janich said he discovered that the murder victim was Maria Ladenburger, daughter of Clemens Ladenburger, who has been an assistant to the Director-General of the European Commission’s Legal Service since 2008. It also emerged that Maria had worked as a volunteer in one of the local refugee shelters in her spare time, helping people like Hussein.

Twenty-five young refugees have been arrested after a fight on Thursday evening in a camp for asylum seekers in Styria.

A group of young male refugees – all aged under 18 – got into a fist fight and then began attacking each other with wooden boards and stones. Three were injured, with broken noses, and had to be treated in hospital.

Thirteen police patrols were called to the camp to bring the situation under control.

Inspector Franz Moisi said that the young refugees were mainly from different Afghan ethnic groups.

The fight occurred at around 10.45pm at a former hardware store on the outskirts of Leoben, which has been turned into a temporary shelter for asylum seekers. Around 300 unaccompanied minors are currently housed there, along with a further 123 people who are mostly families.

25 youths aged between 16 and 17 are now in custody, where they are being questioned with the help of a translator.

Leoben’s Mayor Kurt Wallner (SPÖ) wrote an open letter to Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner on Friday, saying that he had been against “such inhuman mass accommodation shelters” since day one. He said it was a “powder keg” which must be defused, and that he needed reinforcements for the local police force.

He added that he could not solve the problem alone, and that legally the mayor is not responsible for maintaining security in the city. “This can’t continue. The number of refugees in the centre must be lowered dramatically,” he wrote.

He said that many locals had told him they no longer felt safe in the city.
