How can someone be sued for a product with “addictive features”?

What does that even mean?

What about McDonald’s or that rabbi who runs PornHub? Are they not selling products with addictive features?

What about Monster Energy?

Reuters:

TikTok faces new lawsuits filed by 13 U.S. states and the District of Columbia on Tuesday, accusing the popular social media platform of harming and failing to protect young people.

The lawsuits filed separately in New York, California, the District of Columbia and 11 other states, expand Chinese-owned TikTok’s legal fight with U.S. regulators, and seek new financial penalties against the company.

The states accuse TikTok of using intentionally addictive software designed to keep children watching as long and often as possible and misrepresenting its content moderation effectiveness.

“TikTok cultivates social media addiction to boost corporate profits,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement. “TikTok intentionally targets children because they know kids do not yet have the defenses or capacity to create healthy boundaries around addictive content.”

TikTok seeks to maximize the amount of time users spend on the app in order to target them with ads, the states say.

“Young people are struggling with their mental health because of addictive social media platforms like TikTok,” said New York Attorney General Letitia James.

TikTok said on Tuesday that it strongly disagreed with the claims, “many of which we believe to be inaccurate and misleading,” and that it was disappointed the states chose to sue “rather than work with us on constructive solutions to industrywide challenges.”

TikTok provides safety features including default screentime limits and privacy defaults for minors under 16, the company said.

Washington D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb alleged TikTok operates an unlicensed money transmission business through its live streaming and virtual currency features.

Brian Schwalb is a Jew

“TikTok’s platform is dangerous by design. It’s an intentionally addictive product that is designed to get young people addicted to their screens,” Schwalb said in an interview.

Washington’s lawsuit accused TikTok of facilitating sexual exploitation of underage users, saying TikTok’s live streaming and virtual currency “operate like a virtual strip club with no age restrictions.”

Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Vermont and Washington state also sued on Tuesday.

This is gay and retarded.

The government doesn’t care about “addictive features.”

We know what the complaint the government has about TikTok.

It’s well established by subhuman filth like Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton, and Nikki Haley.

California: Fascist Library Shuts Down, Citing Junkies Doing Drugs and Having Sex in the Aisles https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/02/19/california-fascist-library-shuts-down-citing-junkies-doing-drugs-and-having-sex-in-the-aisles/ Mon, 19 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0000

Where are these junkies supposed to do drugs and have sex?

Capitalism took their houses from them.

Shutting down this library is a direct assault on the utopian order of the global community of democracies.

New York Post:

A public library in California has shut its doors following months of rampant drug use, robberies and even public sex between the bookshelves as Golden State cities are held hostage by criminals.

The Contra Costa County Library’s Antioch Branch that it made the decision to close beginning on Saturday until further notice as the “repeated dangerous incidents” have threatened the safety of its patrons.

“During the closure, the Library will be working to implement further security measures so we can reopen as soon as possible,” the library service said in a statement.

A library spokesperson told KTVU that this dire situation goes beyond typical bad library behavior like talking too loud, failing to return books on time or even vandalism and theft.

“We’ve also had drug activity and drug use both inside the library and on library property,” Brooke Converse, a Contra Costa County Library System representative, said.

“People having sexual intercourse inside the library or on property in full view of patrons and staff. We found bullet casings on library property.”

Yeah, well. That sounds to me like standard utopian practices.

We are going to have to get rid of these old people who don’t understand that it is core to our values that drug addicts be allowed to have sex in public libraries in front of children.

This is who we are.

What is the point of destroying Russia, if we become Putinists ourselves?

14% of Adults are Addicted to Ultra-Processed Foods, According to Global Study https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/10/10/14-of-adults-are-addicted-to-ultra-processed-foods-according-to-global-study/ Tue, 10 Oct 2023 00:00:00 +0000

Related: FDA Warns Weight Loss Drug Ozempic Can Result in Intestinal Blockage

There is a related study that shows 100% of these retards are addicted to fake food.

The Guardian:

One in seven adults and one in eight children may be hooked on ultra-processed foods (UPFs), experts have said, prompting calls for some products to be labelled as addictive.

Recent studies have linked UPFs such as ice-cream, fizzy drinks and ready meals to poor health, including an increased risk of cancer, weight gain and heart disease. Global consumption of the products is soaring and UPFs now make up more than half the average diet in the UK and US.

Now researchers say the way some people consume such foods could “meet the criteria for diagnosis of substance use disorder”.

Behaviours that could meet this criteria include: intense cravings, symptoms of withdrawal, less control over intake, and continued use despite such consequences as obesity, binge eating disorder, poorer physical and mental health, and lower quality of life, they said.

An analysis of 281 studies from 36 different countries, published in the BMJ, found that “ultra-processed food addiction” was estimated to occur in 14% of adults and 12% of children.

The academics said that if some foods high in carbohydrates and fats were to be officially categorised as “addictive”, it could help improve health through changes to social, clinical and political policies.

“There is converging and consistent support for the validity and clinical relevance of food addiction,” said Ashley Gearhardt, the article’s corresponding author and a psychology professor at the University of Michigan in the US.

“By acknowledging that certain types of processed foods have the properties of addictive substances, we may be able to help improve global health.”

When you’re addicted to fake food, you’re actually also blocking your pathway for normal foods.

Right?

Fatmericans Getting Addicted to Gas Station Pills, Taking Hundreds Per DAy https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/03/12/fatmericans-getting-addicted-to-gas-station-pills-taking-hundreds-per-day/ Sun, 12 Mar 2023 00:00:00 +0000

Americans are such fat retards they will just get addicted to random pills sold at gas stations and then start taking six bottles of them a day – at nearly $40 a bottle – when they could just be doing fentanyl for less than 1/20th of the price.

New York Post:

A potentially dangerous supplement dubbed “gas station heroin” is being sold at convenience stores and online and getting users hooked.

The pills contain tianeptine and are sold under names including “Za Za Red” and “Tianna.” They are hawked as a dietary supplement that helps to improve brain function and to treat anxiety and depression, according to a report by NewsNation.

But they can lead to an opioid-like high, which is leaving some users addicted, experts told the outlet — and the FDA says the products are linked to overdoses and deaths.

“So far there’s absolutely no understanding of the dosage. And certainly, no, it’s not approved for any medical use. And it’s absolutely not approved as a dietary supplement. In fact, it’s actually on the FDA’s list of concerning substances,” Dr. Kirsten Smith, a researcher with the National Institute on Drug Abuse, told NewsNation.

Many users, Smith added, suffer “extremely painful opioid-like” withdrawals that are “actually as bad as if not worse than some of the opioids they’ve tried.”

One man told NewsNation he spent $2,000 a month on the pills, sacrificing food for his family to buy more before finally quitting cold turkey. Another user said they had a “six- to nine-bottle-a-day habit.”

This is just psycho.

The drugs don’t make you do them, by the way. The drugs just sit there.

This idea that addiction just sucks you in is also just stupid. Withdrawal only lasts a few days. The idea that a healthy person can get addicted is just wrong, and it’s a way of passing off personal responsibility.

Frankly, if you’re not a Christian, then taking pills and dying is kind of a good idea at this point. From the non-Christian perspective, I can’t really think of any better option for life in America than dying as soon as possible.

But yeah, if you want to be a drug addict, just do fentanyl. It’s cheap, and it will take you out of the game quick so the rest of us don’t have to deal with you.

People Feel the Same About Their Smartphones as They Do About Their Homes, Anthropologists Say https://www.anglinarchive.com/2021/05/10/people-feel-the-same-about-their-smartphones-as-they-do-about-their-homes-anthropologists-say/ Mon, 10 May 2021 00:00:00 +0000

There are several things that you’re really just not allowed to talk about under any circumstances.

The most obvious historically has been the historicity of homicidal gas chambers in Nazi prison camps. The newest off-limits topics are the obvious fraud which took place in the 2020 election and the clear health danger of the coronavirus vaccine.

Another one of those topics is the health danger of birth control pills. Another is the health danger of so-called “anal sex.”

You cannot do studies on any of these things, and you cannot even collect information on them informally.

Fake shower room gas chambers, the 2020 election, the corona vaxx, the pill and anal are all black boxes.

The health dangers of cellphones – the worst of which are psychological – are not quite as off-limits as the pill or anal-ramming, but they’re close.

Occasionally, a study gets through.

It never looks good.

The Guardian:

Smartphone users have become “human snails carrying our homes in our pockets”, with a tendency to ignore friends and family in favour of their device, according to a landmark study.

A team of anthropologists from UCL spent more than a year documenting smartphone use in nine countries around the world, from Ireland to Cameroon, and found that far from being trivial toys, people felt the same way about their devices as they did about their homes.

“The smartphone is no longer just a device that we use, it’s become the place where we live,” said Prof Daniel Miller, who led the study. “The flip side of that for human relationships is that at any point, whether over a meal, a meeting or other shared activity, a person we’re with can just disappear, having ‘gone home’ to their smartphone.”

This phenomenon was leading to the “death of proximity” when it comes to face-to-face interaction, he said.

“This behaviour, and the frustration, disappointment or even offence it can cause, is what we’re calling the ‘death of proximity’. We are learning to live with the jeopardy that even when we are physically together, we can be socially, emotionally or professionally alone.”

This site was launched just right about the time that this phone phenomenon began in earnest, and Andrew Anglin has continually pressed the issue, and told people: you don’t have to participate.

Yes, you probably have to have a cellphone. And yes, it probably has to be a smartphone. That is, for most people, not avoidable.

However, you can and should establish clear boundaries with this device.

For example: when you meet with a friend or family member, you can simply turn it off. Sometimes, you may be able to just not bring it to a meeting.

It is a good idea to own a computer. You can make the computer your primary device for reading and electronic communication. Most of the major messaging apps have desktop versions that you can install. This will cause you to associate your electronic behaviors with a device that is not always in your pocket.

Something that we have yet to see a study on, but which is anecdotally true, is that if you do not bring out your phone while meeting with someone, that other person is much less likely to bring out their phone. If they do bring out their phone, and you do not immediately respond by also bringing out your phone, the person will likely say “I’m sorry, I just have to do something really quick” and then put the phone down.

What has been observed is that people expect that if they pull out their phone, whoever they are with will do the same, and people seem to be aware when they pull out the phone and the people their are with do not do the same. If you simply sit there, the other person will recognize what is happening.

It might not seem like it matters at this point, but limiting cellphone involvement is good for everyone’s mental health. The likelihood is that you are personally addicted to the device yourself, and you will have some trouble getting off of it. But like with alcohol, drugs, or sugar, the less you use it, the less it calls to you.

Family Members of Those Prescribed Opioids Nearly Three Times More Likely to Overdose https://www.anglinarchive.com/2019/10/12/family-members-of-those-prescribed-opioids-nearly-three-times-more-likely-to-overdose/ Sat, 12 Oct 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Andrew Anglin

So does this mean that access to drugs makes someone more likely to use drugs?

But I thought… I thought every man was an island, constantly making his own unique choices about everything he does all the time?

Study Finds:

The opioid epidemic in the United States has become a major health issue. One disturbing statistic for thought: over 42,000 Americans died in 2016 alone due to opioid overdoses, according to the CDC. But, how are so many people getting their hands on these drugs in the first place? It’s all in the family, apparently. A new study reveals that relatives of individuals prescribed an opioid medication are nearly three times more likely to suffer an opioid overdose than others.

Researchers from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston conclude that access to a family member’s prescription opioids could be a strong risk factor for overdose among people without their own prescriptions.

“When prescriptions are filled and there are extra pills in the medicine cabinet, family members with access to those medications could overdose or become dependent,” says lead investigator Joshua Gagne in a media release. “But few studies have systematically examined and quantified this risk.”

The investigators utilized health care data collected by a large U.S. commercial insurance company between 2004-2015. In all, 2,303 people who had overdosed on opioids were matched with 9,212 controls. All studied individuals had never been prescribed opioids by a doctor.

Researchers discovered that a family member on the same insurance plan being prescribed opioids was associated with a 2.89-fold increase in the odds of an individual without a prescription overdosing. Researchers say accounting for age made no difference, both adults and adolescents were more at risk of an overdose if a family member was prescribed opioids.

If access to drugs makes people more likely to use them, and using them is bad, maybe we should try to restrict access?

I mean like, so many of these drugs are coming across the Southern border, right?

Maybe we could, like, restrict border crossings?

Like, maybe we could build some kind of a… like some kind of physical barrier along the border, which stopped people and drugs from coming across?

Seems like a really obvious idea. I’m surprised no politician has ever brought it up.

Public Health Crisis: Internet Access, Smartphones and Computers are Creating Generations of Porn Addicts https://www.anglinarchive.com/2019/09/27/public-health-crisis-internet-access-smartphones-and-computers-are-creating-generations-of-porn-addicts/ Fri, 27 Sep 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Pomidor Quixote

Better to have your enemies thinking about degenerate sex stuff than thinking about ways to defeat you — especially when it’s pretty easy to get them to think about sex.

CBS DFW:

“If I have to sacrifice a little embarrassment on the topic to do it, then I’m going to do it.”

A young North Texas man shared his story with the CBS 11 I-Team out about his pornography addiction. Gabe Deem says he was first exposed to porn when he was 8.

“We had cable TV. I would stay up late at night,” says Deem. “Things got really bad at twelve…when my family got high speed internet.”

Gabe Deem

And he says things got even worse with the launch of YouTube in 2005, the iPhone in 2007, the iPad in 2011, and endless other mobile devices that have hit the market over the last two decades.

“I was into basketball. I was really social. And I always had a real life girlfriend, but video games, social media and internet porn rewired me.”

Deem tells the I-Team his parents had “no clue” what he was doing. “My mom always asked me why I took long showers.”

He says it was an addiction that was easy to hide and progressed as he got older. “I would ride my bike home from school and watch internet porn for sometimes two-to-three hours a day.”

STUDIES SUPPORT SIDE EFFECTS

Studies show children are typically first exposed to pornography at age 13.

One report finds 67% of male teenagers and young adults and 33% percent of female teenagers and young adults seek out porn “daily, weekly or monthly.”

Deem calls it an addiction comparable to drugs or alcohol. He says it is so strong he eventually craved a screen or pixels not people.

By the time he was 23-years-old, he says he suffered from physical side effects including erectile disfunction. He says he could not maintain a healthy relationship.

Deem also says it cause social and mental problems. “You see an increase in social anxiety, poor working memory and brain fog, so that started happening to me.”

Scared he’d never be the same, Deem turned to internet forums where he discovered he was not alone. He found other addicts talking about anxiety, depression, poor academic performance, unhealthy relationships, and even suicide.

SUICIDE?

Today, Deem has completely recovered and is about to get married. He is a personal trainer and counselor in Irving who travels the world speaking about porn addiction. He also runs his own recovery site with a forum chatting with 13,000 other members who also say they are addicted to pornography.

He read a post to the I-Team from a 43-year-old married policeman who says he considered taking his life because the addiction destroyed it. “I was ready for suicide, gun was in my hand and loaded eight months ago.” Deem says he is extremely disturbed by the number of posts just like this. He says some are from children and teenagers.

CBS 11 asked him if this is a public health crisis? He responded, “I would definitely call it a public health issue.”

STATES DEEM “PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS”

More than a dozen states agree. They’ve passed health bills deeming pornography an “epidemic that is harming… people.”

…

1ST GENERATION RAISED ON MOBILE DEVICES

Professor and activist Dr. Gail Dines calls the issue a “public health emergency.” She started Culture Reframed a non-profit to teach parents how to build resilience and resistance in their children to porn.

“We have all the research we need to know– this is why it’s a public health emergency. This is now the first of boys we have brought up with access to hardcore porn. We have never done that before,” she said.
“These boys are about to become men. So my question is what kind of fathers, partners, lawyers, doctors, priests, teachers, coaches are they going to become?”

Girls are also vulnerable to this and they do watch porn, even if not at the same level as boys, so fathers shouldn’t assume their daughters are immune.

They also engage in other forms of pornography, such as male homosexual fan fiction erotica and 50 Shades of Grey stuff.

Dr. Dines says society needs a collective response. ” …mainstream hardcore porn is free. It’s accessible. It’s anonymous. And, of course, it’s affordable because it’s free.” She says the three factors drive demand.

“Free porn is the equivalent of me handling out free cigarettes outside a middle school. I would not be allowed to go outside a middle school and just hand out cigarettes every single day to make sure I got them hooked onto cigarettes nor would I be allowed to knock on people’s doors and say, “Excuse me, you have somebody under 18 her, or under 21? Here’s some beer. By the way, I’ll be back tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that.”

Nowadays with smartphones and stuff, it would be more accurate to describe free internet pornography as magic cigarette devices that people carry around with them everywhere and that are always full of cigarettes — all kinds of cigarettes — for them to choose.

This really is one of the “there’s the apple, eat it maybe?” daily tests of people’s wills.

Give in and open your mind’s gates for whatever degenerate stuff some random pornographer wants you to absorb or lock down the fortress and prepare for the siege.

If grown men can fall for this and become addicted, imagine how less prepared young boys are to resist the attack — especially when the creatures of Sauron show up disguised as relatively attractive women.

CONTROVERSY

While some experts say this is just as big of a problem for teens today as vaping, drinking and drugs, other activists argue pornography is a first amendment right. They say the government should not intervene with claims of it being a “public health crisis.”

Oh, yes, very controversial.

There are studies about the effects that pornography has on the mind and body. It rewires people’s brains. Saying it is just like speech is not really any different than saying that drugs are a first amendment right.

But of course, the overlords are just defending your Freedom.

“Parents” (Women) are Neglecting Their Kids in Favor of Fiddling with Their Phones https://www.anglinarchive.com/2018/05/26/parents-women-are-neglecting-their-kids-in-favor-of-fiddling-with-their-phones/ Sat, 26 May 2018 00:00:00 +0000 Adrian Sol

“Mommy, I think I have scurvy…” “That’s very nice honey, go show it to your dad. I have to look at these cat pictures.”

White men have developed wonders of technology that in past ages could have been put to the service of mankind. We could have had flying cars, automatic Jew soap manufacturing plants, orbital meme research platforms – the whole deal.

But instead, under the iron yoke of the Jews, all our creative genius is being poured into manufacturing nigger-appeasing technology, such as boomboxes, light-up shoes and graphical user interfaces for computers so that stupid people can use them.

White men only need a terminal to fulfill all their needs, such as programming and watching anime – like God intended.

But the worst invention of all was probably the smartphone.

These were initially inspired by scifi tech such as Star Trek’s tricorders.

Scientific instruments that could be used to communicate, store and retrieve information and analyse the environment.

But now, they’ve devolved into machines almost exclusively used to watch porn, get ego boosts from social media apps and browse shitty Facebook memes.

We all know where the good memes are. And there’s no smartphone app for it.

And now, these smartphones are distracting women to the extent where they’re neglecting their own kids on a large scale.

Insider:

A second-grader wrote about how they wish cellphones were never invented, because they eat up so much of their parents’ time — and a photo of it has gone viral.

The child’s teacher, Jen Adams Beason, shared a photo of the unnamed student’s assignment on Facebook last Friday. It has now been shared more than 256,000 times.

Here’s what the assignment said (in the students’ words):

“If I had to tell you what invention I don’t like I would say that I don’t like the phone. I don’t like the phone because my panert are on their phone every day. A phone is sometimes a really bad habet.

“I hate my mom’s phone and I wish she never had one. That is an invention that I don’t like.”

Right in the feels. But wow, that teacher must be glued to her phone as well, because that is some shit-tier writing. I could do a lot better – and not just because I’m not 6. I blame the phones.

A study of 170 families in the US, published last year, found that children behaved worse when their parents spend too much time on their smartphones.

By “parents,” they of course mean mothers. Men aren’t glued to their smartphones all day. Except bugmen – but they don’t have kids, so…

Children sulked, whined, threw tantrums, and showed signs of hyperactivity or restlessness more when parents used smartphones while talking to their children.

Actions could be as simple as checking text messages during children’s playtime or mealtimes.

Modern tech is all about providing instant gratifications, often in the form of social feedback (upvotes, retweets and comments on posts) or artificial versions of our natural needs and desires (pornography, video games, videos of social interactions, etc.).

As such, someone who is constantly glued to this sort of tech will have a reduced desire to engage with real life activities, which can grant a similar (and generally more intense) satisfaction, but usually involve a lot more effort. That can definitely include taking care of children, or even interacting with your family in general.

The culprit isn’t even the phones themselves.

It’s all the psychologically manipulative applications being developed for them, with no social control from the government or anyone else, that cause the real damage.

Visit our app for 99 boosts to your self-esteem now!

I do know one thing: if skanks weren’t getting infinite amounts of attention on social media and dating apps, they’d be a lot more dependent emotionally on the real men around them.

So it’s not surprising kids are getting the short end of the stick for the same reason.

The solution, of course, isn’t to ban phones.

Just ban women from having them.

Same thing with pants.

“Trousers,” you Britfags. Wow. “Trousers” is such a faggy word.

Might as well be calling your pants “twinkles.”

Article doesn’t say, but this is probably what he was playing. It’s from the same company that publishes LoL.

These fucking n00bz man…

I used to do stuff like this all the time, and I still do once in a while when I find a good game, and I’ve never had any kind of health problems from it.

This is what happens when you don’t do push-ups every day.

Daily Mail:

A man in China lost sensation from the waist down after playing video games continuously for some 20 hours at an internet cafe last week.

Pfff…

This is what laziness and lack of dedication looks like

As paramedics carried the gaming fan to the hospital on a stretcher, he begged his friends to keep on playing his unfinished game for him, according to a report on Chinese media.

See, people like these are why I quit playing LoL…

KEEP PLAYING TILL YOU’RE DONE, YOU FAGGOT LOSER!

YOU DON’T BAIL ON PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN’T FEEL YOUR LEGS ANYMORE!

The man, who remains unidentified, allegedly started playing the game from the evening of January 27 until his friends called for an ambulance in the afternoon of January 28.

They should’ve given his name and picture, so people can call him scum for bailing on his team mates.

According to Chinese news site QQ.com, the man was trying to go to the toilet when he realised he couldn’t move the lower part of his body at an internet cafe in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province.

Wait a minute…

Earlier in the article, they said he was begging his buddies to finish his game.

That means he wanted to go to the bathroom after starting a match, instead of in-between matches like true gamers do.

No honor or ethics…

One of his friends, who was at the scene, was quoted saying: ‘It seems he had lost sensation completely, and couldn’t move at all. We had to call for an ambulance.’

It remains unclear what game the man had been playing.

That doesn’t matter.

What does matter is that this chink is a wimp who treats gaming like it’s not really important, and that is a threat to the entire human species, to all life on earth for that matter.

Video game addiction has become a prominent societal issue among the young people in China, with an increasing number of young people choosing to ignore their studies, social lives and family to surf the web or play online games.

Many parents use the so-called ‘digital detox’ rehab camps as a last resort to curbing their children’s fixation on the digital world.

Internet addiction is considered a clinical disorder in the nation.

Being addicted to video games is perfectly fine, so long as you do it right.

And these Chinks aren’t doing it right.

Earlier this week, Chinese media reported about a critically ill boy who had unwittingly spent his own life-saving funds on playing ‘King of Glory’.

The 10-year-old boy, nicknamed Taotao, blew 150,000 yuan (£17,000) in his mother’s account – without realising the money was all she had to save his life.

Sucks to be you…

Seriously, who the fuck spends $25K on a game?

And how does a 10-year-old get his parents’ credit card anyway?

Last October, a 21-year-old woman in China became blind in one eye after playing video games on her mobile phone non-stop for a day.

How is that even possible?

Anyway, the point is – no matter how much you play video games, never forget to work out regularly.

It might literally save you from dying or being crippled or even worst – someone writing an article like this about you.

Do push-ups, squats and planks every morning, and I guarantee you’ll be able to do this too
